Centric Home LED Strip Lights for Porch Installation

I want to use a strip on my porch under the roof. However, it is possible during heavy rains that the strip would get splashed with water. Is this acceptable? Would it work better if mounted in the Al channel?

As our LED Strip Light products are not IP-rated for insulation and protection against water or rain, we would not recommend them for the described installation, even if they were installed within our line of aluminum channels. 

Generally speaking, any contact these products have with water could cause an electrical safety hazard and void the product warranty. 

That being said, we have heard from some customers who install our LED strip light products within third-party weather-insulated channels for boats and other exterior installations that may become exposed to the elements. However, please note that we have not performed any internal tests on those items.
