Difference Between Tungsten and Daylight FilmGrade WHITE LED Strip Lights

I am interested in purchasing your FilmGrade White LED Strip Lights 3001.32, but I am confused about whether I should order the tungsten or daylight.

Is the color temperature associated with the brightness of the light? When would I want tungsten, and when would I want daylight? How does the dimmer affect this? Dimmers normally reduce the brightness of a light, correct?

We can confirm that the color temperature of a light source is not related to the lumen output. The first measures the correlated color temperature (CCT), whereas the latter measures the quantity of light being output. As such, when a light is dimmed, the number of lumens output will reduce, but the color temperature will not change.

As can be noted from the below guide, we often recommend the 3000K color temperature for kitchen installations. If you are unsure of which color temperature would work best in your kitchen, we might recommend purchasing a few of our standard lightbulbs to see which best fits the needs of the kitchen prep space.

After you have compared the options, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. We will gladly provide a prepaid return label for any needed items from domestic orders.

Regarding the voltage options, it might be helpful to know that each of the LED Strip Lights hardware is designed for specific voltages. If the 12V FilmGrade WHITE LED Strip Lights were selected, we would recommend using a 12V power supply. If the 24V version was instead preferred, we suggest the 24V power supply. When products of mismatched voltage are connected to power, hardware damage may be incurred, which will void the product warranty.

We have attached several guides below, which we hope are helpful as you continue your purchase and installation planning process.
