The following illustration shows the wiring and component configuration used to power low voltage LED strip lights with a total length longer than 16.4 ft (5 meters) with the ability to dim the LED strips using a traditional wall-dimmer. This is a great setup for residential and commercial installations where a clean, elegant and user- friendly LED strip light installation is desired.

LED strip lights operate on low voltage DC (e.g. 12V/24V), but wall-dimmers are installed in standard line voltage circuits which operate at AC 120 volts (North America) or 220-240 volts.

This is a similar setup as shown in Configuration 1A, but this demonstration shows how multiple power supplies can be connected to the same dimmer switch. This is a common configuration for larger installations where the power capacity (as well as Class 2) limitations would otherwise limit the total length of LED strip lights that can be used.
