What's the minimum lumen output of BR30 bulb when using a mains dimmer?

For the BR30 bulbs, when using a mains dimmer like the Lutron Maestro LED+, what's the minimum lumen output from a bulb at the "on the threshold"? Those dimmers have an adjuster to fine-tune the minimum output from the dimmer to feed the bulbs the lowest voltage that will get them to turn on.

For the 5-spec LED strip, when using the Film-grade DMX 50-channel dimmer (3082, 24V), I've noticed that at values <2% (either via manually setting it to 2%, or a value of ~5 via DMX), the LEDs won't turn on (I've been using the 30KHz PWM, but haven't tried lower values). With the LED strips, I'm trying to create cove lighting that can vary from very low levels to very bright. Do you have any recommendations on how to get a lower minimum output from the LEDs?

The minimum dimming level is 20% for the BR30 lamps. Therefore we would expect that the minimum lumen output would be approximately 160 lumens. We have not tested the Lutron Maestro product and are unsure about the dimming trim and whether this would improve the minimum dimming level. You are more than welcome to take advantage of our 30-day free returns policy to test this empirically and determine if this lamp would be suitable for your needs.

For the PN 3082 DMX decoder, we would recommend adjusting the gamma value. The gamma value will essentially provide you with a steeper or shallower dimming curve, allowing you to adjust the brightness at a rate that better suits your needs (we suspect you will want a value > 1.0). Additionally, we would recommend checking to ensure that your PWM bitrate is set to 16-bit.

Do you have a flicker-free BR30 bulbs?

You guys don’t happen to have any flicker-free BR30 lamps available? I didn’t see any but I figured I would double check.

Our BR30 lamps have a flicker rate of 6%, which is far lower than traditional incandescent lamps (20-30%) but unfortunately are not fully flicker-free based on our internal standards (~2%).

Dimmable LED Light for Art Studio

I'm looking for a lamp/bulb for my art desk. I'm am amateur but I appreciate color accuracy using my art markers. Your tube bulbs look appealing but I'd prefer a dimmable lamp. (maybe I can find a lighting fixture that would allow me to only switch on one tube, or both). What do you recommend?

While we do not have any dimmable light fixtures or dimmable T8 LED Tube Lights, you might alternatively be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio, which are dimmable and provide a high CRI of 95+.

Since the Northlux is "dimmable" , could I use it in a simple desk lamp with a dimmer/cord product such as the one below, or would I need a special kind of dimmer control ?

Lutron Credenza Plug-In Dimmer

The Lutron Credenza plug-in dimmer appears to be compatible with our NorthLux BR30 lamp, so that looks like a good choice! (Keep in mind that our NorthLux A19 lamps, on the other hand, are NOT dimmable and cannot be used with a dimmer.)

Are the BR30 LED bulbs dimmable?

Are the BR30 LED bulbs (95 CRI/5000 k ) dimmable? Can I install a dimmer switch and will these BR30 led (95CRI/5000k) bulbs I bought from you dim?

We are happy to confirm that our BR30 bulbs are dimmable, and can be connected to wall dimmers for adjustment.

Flicker-free Recessed Bulbs for Enclosed Fixtures

Do you have any nonflicker bulbs that work in an enclosed fixture?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer standard lightbulbs that are compatible with enclosed fixtures while also providing flicker-free output.

Do need to order about 40 bulbs for recessed lights? Is either of these no flicker?

For recessed lighting, we would likely recommend our BR30 bulbs such as the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulbs for Home & Residential and the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs. As previously noted, these bulbs are unfortunately not compatible with fully enclosed fixtures.

Our BR30 lamps have a flicker rate of approximately 6%. While this is not the same level as our flicker-free lamps which have a flicker rate of < 1%, these lamps are still below the 15-30% flicker rate that is commonly seen with incandescent lamps.

Avian Lighting for Three Parrots

I'm looking at using these lights in a room that will be specifically for my 3 parrots. I just purchased an old farmhouse and am completely renovating the whole thing so I have the option of any lighting fixtures that I want. Right now I was going to add 4 recessed cans into the room, but I'm not sure what to do as far as running the lights all day. Usually, the birds get up around 7 am and go to be around 20:30. Is that too long for them to be in your daylight bulb? I use a full spectrum now, but I don't think it's the quality that yours are. I do have it on a timer to go on at 9:30 and off at 14:30, and the room just has regular bulbs for the rest of the hours of the day. The one thing I am interested in is being able to control the lights if I'm not home, either with an app or on a timer. Is this something that can be done with your bulbs?

We are happy to confirm that many of our customers with avian lighting use these BR30 lights as constant daylight illumination for their feathered friends, and have not reported any ill effects or issues to us. Further, we are happy to offer a 3-year warranty policy on these items. If they encounter any malfunctions within that period, please let us know and we will gladly provide you with new warranty replacements.

That being said, if you have any species-specific concerns, we would recommend contacting a local bird rescue non-profit, as those organizations typically have many resources and informed help available.

If the BR30 lights are connected to a dimmer circuit, they may be compatible with systems such as Lutron Caseta. That being said, in our experience, we have found that the Caseta system best works with smart bulbs containing wifi chips for control, which our products, unfortunately, do not contain. A timer connected to the circuit could work well, though we do not have any specific models that we could recommend.

Would you be able to tell me how many again lights would be sufficient for an 11x13 space (7’ ceilings)? I was originally planning for 4 cans in the room, but now I’m thinking of doing 6, having three of the BR30 avian bulbs and then 3 of the other bulbs so the birds don’t have simulated daylight too long.

Based on the lumen estimation calculator and the dimensions you provided, my recommendation would be to have 10 or more lights to ensure adequate brightness.

6 lamps would provide around 30 footcandles, which is less than the typical illumination level of office spaces and commercial spaces.

Do you have any lights for uplighting?

Would we purchase the same bulbs we purchased in our last order for the uplighting or would we need another type of bulb from WaveForm for uplight fixtures?

For focused lighting installations, such as uplighting, we typically recommend our BR30 bulbs.

These BR30 lightbulbs have a narrower beam angle than the A19 bulbs purchased in your most recent order, which can be particularly helpful for illuminating specific targets or wall washing.

For residential installations, we would specifically recommend using the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential.

Are the BR30 bulbs spotlights or provide flood-type illumination?

I am interested in purchasing your NorthLux 95 CRI BR30 bulbs for my art studio in my home. Are these bulbs spotlights or do they provide flood-type illumination, which is what I need?

As our BR30 LED Lights have a beam angle of 120°, we can confirm that they would qualify as a flood (or wide floodlight) light source.

If you would like to try our BR30 bulbs in your installation, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. We will gladly provide prepaid return labels for any unneeded items from domestic orders.

Do you have high CRI recessed lighting options?

Do you have any recessed lighting options? I currently have CFL recessed lighting. I would like to replace all with LED High CRI recessed lighting. Do you sell the LED retrokit that your LED bulb would fit in?

We can confirm that our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential and other B30 bulbs are available in our catalog and are designed for canned recessed lighting fixtures.

While we do not currently have other recessed lighting options available, we would be more than happy to share your interest in that format with our product team for future development.

We are also happy to confirm that our BR30 bulbs would not require any special fixtures or adapters for use with the standard E26 base used in most residential lighting fixtures.

In the event that you would like to try these items, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. We will gladly provide you with a prepaid return label for any unneeded items from domestic orders.

Do you have LED lights that do not emit EMFs?

I am working on a home remodel. I intend to install 6" round recessed can lights. I have been told by my electric supplier that the halogen bulbs I previously used in these fixtures have been discontinued and that I have to use LED bulbs.

We want to completely avoid EMFs, do you have any recommendations for bulbs? We do not need the bulbs to change on the color spectrum, would stay around 3000K.

This is the bulb I would have used if it was still available

Philips 53W 120V Long Neck PAR30 Halogen Wide Flood

We would recommend our BR30 lamps, which we have linked below:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/br30-bulbs/products/ultra-high-95-cri-e26-br30-led-bulb-for-home-residential

While we do not test for EMF, we do have very low flicker rates on these lamps (<6%) which may be of interest to you. Additionally, the 95 CRI rating will ensure that colors in your space will look natural and vibrant.

LED Bulb for 6" Can with Wide Spread 40 Degree

I am working on a home remodel. I intend to install 6" round recessed can lights. I have been told by my electric supplier that the halogen bulbs I previously used in these fixtures have been discontinued and that I have to use LED bulbs.

We want to completely avoid EMF's, do you have any recommendation for bulbs? We do not need the bulbs to change on the color spectrum, would stay around 3000K.

This is the bulb I would have used if it was still available:

Philips 53W 120V Long Neck PAR30 Halogen Wide Flood

Based on the details provided, we would likely recommend our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential. We can confirm that these lightbulbs do not create any dirty electricity as rated by FCC standards for EMF emissions.

Is there an option for 4" cans? Also can I use these bulbs in any can light or do they require specific LED components.

I want to confirm the 6" bulbs you recommend do not put out electronic, magenetic or other types of radiation.

Our BR30 LED bulbs have a width of 3.75" at the widest point, and are expected to be compatible with 4" canned lighting sockets. These lights should work optimally in the standard E26 socket, and we would not expect any functionality issues or required adjustments.

We can also confirm that these lightbulbs do not create any dirty electricity as rated by FCC standards for EMF emissions.

What's the difference between the two full-spectrum avian bulbs you carry?

What is the difference between the two full-spectrum avian bulbs you carry? What fixtures do I use with them? Prefer a bendable floor lamp.

We can confirm that while the Avian A19 bulb offers flicker-free output, the Avian BR30 bulb is dimmable.

Beyond this difference, the BR30 bulbs are most commonly used in canned or recessed lighting fixtures that have a narrower beam angle than standard A19 bulbs. Further, both will utilize the same standard socket and will offer full spectrum output with a high CRI of 95+.

While we do not sell fixtures for standard lights, we can confirm that our A19 and BR30 bulbs will fit within the standard E26 base. It might be helpful to know that this E26 base is used in most common light fixtures such as lamps and floor lighting.

Are the BR30 bulbs suitable for enclosed fixtures?

Is the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential suitable for totally enclosed fixtures?

As our BR30 LED bulbs require a moderate amount of airflow to diffuse the heat generated during operation, they are unfortunately not compatible with totally enclosed light fixtures. We do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchase planning.

LED Bulbs for Avian Lighting

We are a large wildlife rehabilitation organization. We have several large indoor rehab rooms that we house many species from songbirds to doves to raptors. I would like to know if you have tubes vs. bulbs.

We are happy to confirm that we have several avian products available in our catalog, such as the Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds and the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds.

Though not specifically marketed for avian installations, we also have the 6500K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free T8 LED Tube Lights available which utilize the same full spectrum high CRI LED technology.

While our T8 LED Tube Lights are compatible with some ballasts used within fluorescent fixtures, it might be helpful to know that the ballast bypass process illustrated within the user guide can be used to make any T8 fixture compatible. As an alternative, you may also be interested in our LED Ready T8 Fixtures, which would not require any rewiring for compatibility.

High CRI and Dimmable Lighting

Do you offer:

1. slim, can less, LED lighting?

2. LED lighting that maintains a high CRI at dimmer light levels

3. What dimmer is used to achieve the high CRI at lower dimmer settings?

We have provided answers to each of your questions below, which I hope is helpful for your purchase planning process.

1. We can confirm that we currently do not have any recessed can less ceiling lighting at this time, and we do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchase planning.

2. We are happy to confirm that our dimmable LED lighting products will retain their high CRI rating (notated on the respective product specification sheets) when set to any dimming level.

3. Our LED Strip Light products are compatible with many dimmers, which are featured within our compatibility list. Our standard BR30 bulbs are compatible with wall dimmers as well.

High CRI BR30 4000K PN 4011.40 Photometric Report

Your item 4011.30 (3000K) states CRI: Ra 95 R9 80; However, your item 4011.40 (4000K, 50000K, 6500K) makes no reference to extended CRI value nor do I see a Product Spec sheet for the 4011.40. Can you give me that information?

We have attached a link to the photometric report for our 4000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb (PN4011.40) below, for your reference.

Avian Full Spectrum LED Lighting Fixture Dimension

We are designing an Aviary for a hospital. Can you send me the spec with the dimension for this fixture? Where can we buy this from? Can this light be on a dimmer?

We have attached the product specification sheets for the Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds as well as the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds below, which contain the product measurements.

Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds

Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds

As we do not have retail partnerships domestically or internationally, we can confirm that our products are exclusively sold through the storefront on our website.

As a final note, while the Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds is compatible with dimmers, the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Bird is unfortunately not compatible.

Do you have an 800-lumen dimmable 3000K bulb?

I've been reading all your posts about CRI and was looking at your selection, but most of my 3000K bulbs are a 60W equivalent and on a dimmer. Do you have more choices then what's on your site?

Though we do not have any additional product options other than what is listed on our website, you may alternatively be interested in our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential. These lightbulbs offer 800 lumens each and are 60W equivalent, which may be of interest based on the details provided.

Recommended Lights for Art Studio Space

I've recently acquired a new art studio space which was formerly a hotel room. It's about 200 sq ft with a very small north-facing window and a fairly small south-facing window. Where I'm hoping to set up my easel would be closest to the south-facing window (with an awning that obstructs the light) and under 4 light receptacles that were placed for a time when it was a hotel room. I'm just wondering if you have any recommendations for lighting the space. I'll be painting it white.

Based on my review of the details provided, it appears that we have several options that we would recommend for your new studio space. If the ceiling lighting is recessed, we would primarily recommend our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio, which are available in both 5000K and 6500K. These dimmable lights provide 800 lumens per bulb and offer a CRI of 95+.

Some of our other customers with similar installations have also installed our LED Strip Lights at the ceiling line within the corner version of our aluminum channels, which can be dimmed and paired with smart home systems.

Depending on the finer details of your studio space, you may prefer to utilize the FilmGrade™ DC Power Supply for LED Strip and FilmGrade™ Flicker-Free LED Dimmer rather than the in-wall power supplies that would require connection to line voltage and manual wiring.

Recessed LED Light for an Art Studio

I would like to talk to someone about adding lights to my art studio. I have an electrician scheduled, but he doesn't seem to know much about this subject. I was planning on putting in recessed LED lights but am now wondering what you would recommend.

Though we do not have recessed lighting fixture options, we would be happy to provide you with some product recommendations if you would like to share some details about your studio with us. For example, it would be helpful to know the size of the space, including the ceiling height.

For a simple installation, you may be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio, which are designed to be installed within recessed canned ceiling lighting.

If you would like to utilize ceiling fixtures using a direct-wire connection, we might recommend our newly-launched LED-Ready T8 Fixtures, which are designed to be compatible with our T8 LED Tube Lights.

If installing LED Strip Lights in the cornices of your walls is more beneficial for even illumination, we would likely recommend our 5000K 24V CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ LED Strip Lights for Commercial & Retail, or our 6500K 24V FilmGrade™ WHITE LED Strip Lights.

I have measured my art studio (which is actually a bedroom) and it is 13’7” long, 10’3” wide, and 8’ tall. There are 9” open bookshelves on one of the 10’ wide walls and two windows that face West. There is one light in the middle of the room.

I was thinking about putting in 4 flat recessed LED lights in the four corners of the room. Probably 2–3 feet away from the walls.

I’m assuming the Northlux 95 fits in the older style of recessed cans which in the past have been quite large. But I don’t really know. Can you tell me what size can (dimensions) I would need?

And I don’t know how the other options would work. I have forwarded your email response to my electrician, but I haven’t heard back from him.

I am an oil painter and consequently need not only good lighting but accurate lightning.

We have attached an image that lists the dimensions of our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio in millimeters, which we hope is helpful for your canned lighting installation planning.

These lights should fit into any standard E26 base, though please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy in the event that they wind up not being the right fit. We will gladly provide you with a prepaid return label for any unneeded items.

Based on my use of our Lumen Estimation Calculator, it appears that a room of the dimensions provided would benefit from 11,095 lumens for thorough illumination, though each space varies depending on the needs of the illumination target. As each of our BR30 bulbs provides 800 lumens, your space may benefit from additional light sources, such as the aforementioned products or the NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures.

The NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures do not require additional power supplies or accessories, and can be easily installed on many different surfaces using the included magnets and metal clips, which can be useful for installations that benefit from a moveable light source.

Do you have a higher wattage of BR30 LED Bulbs for the art studio?

I have sent emails in the past regarding light for my daughter’s art studio. She presently has ordinary bulbs in there. Before, I inquired about linear lights over bulbs, but you didn’t have any in stock. So, since she currently has two light bulbs about 6 feet apart, I’m thinking of your 5000K, 95 CRI BR30 LED bulbs to replace them. However, I’m not sure 60-watt bulbs are bright enough. Do they come in higher wattages?

While our BR30 lightbulbs are unfortunately not available with a higher wattage, we are happy to confirm that our T5 Linear Light Fixtures are currently in stock and available for purchase.

If you would like to try the 5000K NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio bulbs or the 5000K NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixture for the art studio, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy if any of the items wind up being unneeded.

Flicker-free with 800+ lumens Output Lighting

I am trying to achieve the lighting required on page 4 of the link below. https://trackman.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/4403267887003/Spotlight_Installation_Instructions_4.20__1_.pdf. Can you please recommend which of your lighting would work best? I can use the shop light style or more of a can/flood option.

Based on our review of the document provided, it appears that a flicker-free option with an output greater than 800 lumens is recommended for your installation. As such, it appears that we have several options that could work well.

As a primary consideration, while our BR30 bulbs are a great option for recessed lighting, they are unfortunately not flicker-free which may affect the video capture of your installation.

You may be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures due to the ease of installation, flicker-free output, and high CRI of 95+. These light sources can be conveniently installed using the included brackets and DC power cable, and do not require a dedicated power supply.

As a secondary recommendation, our NorthLux™ 95 CRI LED Shop Light Fixtures are similar to the linear light fixtures in that they only require a DC connection for power, and offer flicker-free output. As is also true of the linear light fixtures, this product is not designed for wiring to line voltage or use with dimmers.

If wall dimmers and smart home systems are of benefit for your installation, we would recommend the FilmGrade™ WHITE LED Strip Lights, which are designed with video capture in mind. As this item is available in both the 12V and 24V versions, we strongly recommend selecting a power supply of a matching voltage.

Kelvin-Rated 6000K-6500K BR30 LED Bulb for Showing Loose Diamond

Which kelvin-rated bulb would be the best for showing a loose diamond to a client? The diamond will not be set into a mounting.

As we do not currently have a 6000K BR30 option available in our catalog, we would likely recommend our Ultra High 95 CRI 6500K E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Jewelry & Display for your lighting installation.

In the event that a different color temperature winds up being preferable, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. We will gladly provide a prepaid return label for domestic orders so that any unneeded items can be returned to us.

High CRI Bulbs for Outfitting House Lighting

I will need a whole bunch of good-quality bulbs. Rather than me poking through your online ordering system and hoping to pick the best options. Can you figure out suitable part numbers with a good 90+ CRI?

Based on our review, it appears that we have two products that directly match the details provided within the lighting table. We have attached links to each product below, in the hopes that it proves to be helpful.

While our A21 lightbulbs are 100W equivalent products that may also be of interest, please note that this standard has slightly larger dimensions than the more common A19 lightbulb.

4000K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulb

4000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb

4000K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulb

What is the angle of the beam of the BR30 Bulbs?

What is the difference between Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb and NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio? If they were both 5000k, what is the angle of the beam?

We can confirm that the 5000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb and the 5000K NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio are identical products that are provided with unique landing pages for marketing purposes. This can be noted by the shared part number of 4011.50.

As such, identical light output can be expected from both products. We do sincerely apologize for any confusion the product pages may have caused. As a final note, we can also confirm that our BR30 lightbulb products have a beam angle of 120°.

Do you have a PAR38 form light?

I love your lights. I have two questions. 1.) Do you have a PAR38 form light? I have some of your BR30s but they're too small to fit in these fixtures. 2.) Do you have any dimmable 1600-lumen 4000k or 5000k bulbs?

Unfortunately, we do not currently have PAR38 products available and we do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchase planning.

While unfortunately not offering 800 lumens per bulb rather than the preferred 1600 lumens (as a 60W equivalent), it might be helpful to know that our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs are also available in the 4000K and feature dimming capability. We do hope that this option is useful for the planning of your installation areas.

Dimmable Aviary Lights

I am wondering if any of your aviary lights are dimmable. My birds are in a medium-sized bedroom. The 4 lights in the ceiling are on a dimmer switch. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Based on the details provided, we would recommend the Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds. Though the dimensions of the BR30 bulbs are larger than the standard A19 bulbs, these products are compatible with dimmers whereas our non-filament A19 bulbs are not.

Do you make a BR30 bulb with a 120º beam?

Perfect CRI. But spotlight beam. Do you make this bulb with a 120º beam? This is what an artist needs for the painting wall.

Based on the details provided, we would likely recommend the 5000K or 65000K option of the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio. These products have a beam angle of 120°, are dimmable, and offer full spectrum high CRI light output.

Does you BR30 bulbs go inside any recessed can light?

I have a question about the BR30 full spectrum and Northlux bulbs. Do they go inside any recessed can light and is the only difference between these two bulbs the fact that one has 3-kelvin options and one has 2-kelvin options? I'm considering a combination of your lights for my art studio.

We are happy to confirm that the BR30 lightbulbs are designed for use with recessed canned light fixtures as well as track lighting systems.

We can also confirm that the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio and the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb are identical products that are provided with unique landing pages for marketing purposes.

The only difference between these products pages is the available color temperatures (such as 4000K, 5000K, 6500K). As such, identical high-CRI output can be expected from both. We do apologize for any confusion that these pages may have caused.

Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds

Do these work in a recessed lighting fixture?

We can confirm that our BR30 lightbulbs are rated for recessed lighting fixtures.

I have an aviary with 3 recessed cans in the ceiling. Would 3 of these bulbs create too much light? These fixtures are currently on a dimmable timer.

As a starting point, it might be helpful to compare the lumen output of our lights against the output of the lightbulbs currently installed in the recessed ceiling fixtures.

As each of our Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds provide 800 lumens (60W equivalent), three units would provide a total of 2400 lumens. So long as this lumen output does not greatly exceed the lights currently installed, we would not expect there to be issued with glare or over-illumination.

You may also be interested in trying our Lumen Estimation Calculator, which provides a lumen target based on the dimensions of an installation area. This tool will also provide recommendations for item quantities to meet the lumen targets, as well.

LED Lighting for Birds

I was hoping to order LED lights for birds that are not individual light bulbs but either strips or tube lights. Do you have anything like that for birds?

While not specifically marketed for birds, we are happy to confirm that the same LED technology found within our avian A19 and BR30 lightbulbs can also be found in our T8 LED Tube Lights and LED Strip Light products.

As such, you may be interested in our 4000K and 6500K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free T8 LED Tube Lights, which are designed to be compatible with our newly launched LED Ready T8 Fixtures.

For an LED Strip Light option, we might recommend either the 4000K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ LED Strip Lights for Commercial & Retail or the 6500K FilmGrade™ WHITE LED Strip Lights in 12V or 24V. These lights can be mounted within channels, paired with in-wall dimmers, and powered with DC power supplies or in-wall power supplies

How does your BR30 bulb compare to JandCase BR30 in Amazon?

Amazon is selling a BR30 bulb. How does this compare to the BR30 that you are at a much higher price? I want my white vanity countertop to be as white as it can be.

Based on my review of the details provided, it appears that our line of BR30 products can provide superior dimming from 0-100%, whereas the JandCase products appear to be limited to dimming between 20-100%.

As a further note, we can confirm that we use higher quality components in the production of our products compared to others, which are 10-20x more expensive per unit but provide superior light quality. We also adhere to strict internal testing for each product to be sure that they exhibit a high quality of light output.

If you would like to directly compare these products, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy and we will provide a prepaid return label for any items that wind up being unneeded.

Flicker-free light for Enclosed Globe Desk Lamp

Which is the best flicker-free light for an artist's desk lamp?

While we might normally recommend our NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio, these products are unfortunately not compatible with fully enclosed fixtures.

Our standard A19 lightbulbs require a moderate amount of airflow for the dissipation of heat. When the heat is not able to dissipate, the internal hardware can encounter issues, and we do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchasing plans.

If the dimension of your desk lamp can accommodate for larger bulbs, such as the BR30 standard, you might alternatively be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio.

PAR30 Bulbs for Residential and Photo Lighting

I have (6) 5" halo lights in my kitchen that I'd like to get some PAR30 bulbs for but I'm having trouble deciding on the best color temperature for the space. I'm concerned that 3000K will be too warm and wanted to get your recommendation. I'd really like to talk to someone about options because I have several different projects I'm working on beyond the kitchen and want to see what our options are.

While we do not have PAR30 products available, it might be helpful to know that we offer the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential, which utilizes the same base and input voltage as PAR30 lights.

If you would like to try our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential in your kitchen, please note that we have a 30-day return policy. If any items from your orders wind up being unneeded, let us know and we will gladly provide you with a prepaid return label.

Can full spectrum bulbs be used in standard lamps?

Can these bulbs be used in standard lamps? Are special fixtures necessary?

Generally speaking, special fixtures are not necessary for use with our Full Spectrum lightbulb products.

That being said, we can confirm that our Full Spectrum A19 and BR30 bulbs will require non-enclosed fixtures so that a moderate amount of airflow can assist with heat dissipation. So long as the fixture is partially exposed, the lightbulbs should be able to operate properly.

Bulb Recommendation for Traditional Track Lighting

I'm thinking a more traditional track lighting setup (ie, aluminum track, individual heads) might be a better solution than the LED strip due to the configuration of the ceiling in the space. Specifically, there is a beam that runs the length of the ceiling (serves as an engine hoist). To properly light the space. I fully anticipate the need for a track on either side of the beam.

Depending on your thoughts, perhaps I should more thoroughly explore your A19 bulb options for a solution. I have just about zero experience with track lighting, so would need to know how many heads, the interval on the track, etc etc. What strikes you as a sensible way to go?

Based on our review, we believe that your installation would be uniformly illuminated by 10 units of our BR30 lightbulbs.

From what we have found on Home Depot’s website, there appear to be several 8-ft and greater track lengths that can be interlinked to accommodate any number of BR30 track light heads. These heads can be adjusted to any location on the tracks, which we believe should help illuminate specific prints and artwork that are on the walls of the space.

We believe that utilizing five track lighting heads on each side of the ceiling support beam should provide evenly distributed light across the entire space, though you may find benefit in some fine-tuning. Hopefully, this type of installation allows you to illuminate just the portions of the walls that you would like.

If you wind up preferring our A19 or A21 bulbs instead of the BR30 lights, please let us know and we will gladly provide you with a prepaid return label so that the unneeded items can be returned to us for a refund.

I will check out Home Depot for the track pieces and see what I can configure. Just to clarify, the lighting in the two parallel tracks (ie using BR30s) will be used to illuminate the vehicle below only. I will have separate, conventional recessed lighting (two units) to light the wall where I have some artwork. So the entire focus of the track lighting is to properly illuminate the red car.

The garage floor will be roughly 9' below where the bulb on the track will be. For uniform lighting do you recommend a particular interval on the track for the BR30?

As our BR30 lights have a beam angle of 120 degrees, we typically recommend placing them no further apart than the distance between the lights and the floor or illumination target.

As the track lighting will be 9’ from the garage floor, we would recommend installing the lights upon the track no further than 9’ from each other.

Focusing on the BR30s, I think I'm pretty well ready to move on this thing.

-The ceiling is 9'3" and the range from the bulb to the target will be something less as of course it will be mounted in a head suspended from the track.

-The distance between the two parallel tracks is 142". This dimension may shrink slightly based on where the darned ceiling joists are.

-I've spaced the heads (each with a BR30 bulb) at 4' intervals on the track

I want both tracks to be dimmable in tandem, on a single circuit which I'm thinking should be pretty straightforward.

Please wade in with any thoughts on my plan of lighting the space with 10 heads (ie 5 on each track). Also, I would appreciate your insight on Kelvin. Is there a standard? Given the application (ie illuminating a red car) should I be looking at 4000? 5000? Finally, where can I find the R9 values for your BR 30 bulbs?

Based on the details provided, we might recommend the 5000K color temperature option of our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb.

While 4000K is a common ‘neutral white’ color point for retail and office spaces, the 5000K option can be very beneficial for installations where color accuracy is important.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

Difference Between 5000K and 6500K Bulbs

Though the 4000K BR30 photometric report is currently available, we do not yet have test data for the 5000K and 6500K BR30 options.

Does Waveform recommend any one brand of these things over the other? Similarly, what specific dimmer do I want to buy that's most compatible with your Full Spectrum E26 BR30? I see many things out there referring to an R30-shaped bulb....are the BR30 and the R30 the same size?

In the track department, my understanding is I should be looking for the H spec track, which of course will necessitate I have H spec (Halo compatible) heads.

Unfortunately, we do not have any specific track lighting brands or models that we would recommend, and we do sincerely apologize for any complexity this may add to your purchase planning.

That being said, we are happy to confirm that our BR30 products are compatible with the dimming technologies used within most products on the market.

Based on our understanding, the R30 and BR30 lightbulb are largely interchangeable with fixtures as they are the same size. Further, the BR30 has a narrower beam angle due to the more directed reflector within.

Full Spectrum Dimmable LED Bulbs for Desk Installation

I need a desk lamp that has these properties: 1. Very bright, but dimmable, continuously (no steps) 2. Wide spectrum, though not necessarily sun-like. (no unnatural peaks or dips) 3. Energy efficiency would be nice. Is this a satisfiable equation? Is there such a thing? Do you make it?

For your desk installation, we would likely recommend our dimmable 4000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs. These bulbs have a 12W power consumption and offer a high CRI of 95+.

If these lightbulbs wind up not being the right fit for your installation, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. Simply let us know which items are unneeded, and we will gladly provide a prepaid return label.

Full Spectrum LED Bulbs for Indoor Lights

We are looking for full spectrum indoor lights for our lamps. We want something as bright as possible. Which would be best for us? CENTRIC DAYLIGHT 100W equiv or Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb?

Based on the details provided, we would recommend the 100W-equivalent CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulbs, as they can provide greater lumen output than our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs (1600 lumens vs 800 lumens).

I see Waveform CRI 99, but I don’t see what products of yours offer that. Where are those products? Also, do you sell any lamps (not a standard bulbs) with full spectrum light and a lot of lumens?

We currently have two products within our line of ABSOLUTE SERIES™ 99 CRI products, which are the ABSOLUTE SERIES™ LED Linear Module and the ABSOLUTE SERIES™ LED Flexible Strip.

We also have several light fixtures available which can output full-spectrum light, such as our LED Shop Light Fixtures, which each have an output of 4200 lumens, and our 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures, which can output 900 and 1800 lumens depending on the length selected (2ft and 4ft).

Flicker Free Dimmable Replacement LED Bulbs

One of our clients recently remodeled one of their office spaces and is having problems with flicker. Do you offer a dimmable, flicker-free LED replacement lamp? Have any of your products been tested for compatibility with Douglas Lighting Controls?

Based on the details provided, it appears that you might be referring to our T8 LED Tube Light products, which are unfortunately not compatible with dimming technology.

While we might normally recommend our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs for recessed office lighting as an alternative, these products are not flicker-free. We do sincerely apologize for any impact that the above may have on your purchase planning.

We continue to explore flicker-free options for our client's office space. Your website states that you have flicker free replacement bulbs. Do you have any other flicker free lighting options? We would like to replace these fixtures with flicker free fixtures.

Based on the details provided, it appears that the closest match in our catalog would be the LED-Ready T8 Fixtures, which are compatible with our T8 LED Tube Lights.

I have a couple of questions regarding the Centric Series Flicker Free- Non-Dimmable Power Supply.

Can this power supply be used to drive any led fixture or does it need to be used with your Ultra High CRI White Led strip? Used in combination with the Centric Series Flicker Free Non-Dimmable Power Supply are the Waveform CENTRIC HOME LED Strip Lights flicker-free? If so, could you please supply me with the spec sheet that shows the flicker index and percentage?

We can confirm that the CENTRIC SERIES™ Flicker-Free Dimmable Power Supply for LED Strip is compatible with the LED Strip Lights in our catalog of matching voltage.

We can also confirm that the CENTRIC SERIES™ Flicker-Free Dimmable Power Supply for LED Strip will afford connected LED Strip Lights with flicker-free output. Our available photometric reports can be found on our Photometric Test Reports page, which we hope is helpful for your installation planning.

While some of the tests list the flicker rate, many of those tests were performed using the FilmGrade™ DC Power Supply for LED Strip, which uses similar technology as our CENTRIC SERIES™ Flicker-Free Dimmable Power Supply for LED Strip.

Does your BR30 bulb compatible with 6” recessed cans fixture?

I have 6” recessed cans with halogen PAR38 75w bulbs. I want the light brightness and color appearance of the halogens in LED. I see you have R30 bulbs that would meet my needs. Do you also have R40? If not, will the R30 size work to my satisfaction? Or can you refer me to a company that makes an R40 that would meet my needs?

The closest product in our catalog to halogen output would be our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential. So long as the fixture utilizes the standard E26 base, we believe that our BR30 bulbs should be compatible.

That being said, we can confirm that we do not currently have BR40 bulbs available. Further, we, unfortunately, do not have any third-party products that we could recommend, and we do apologize for any impact this may have on your purchase planning.

If would like to try our BR30 bulbs for your installation, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. Simply let us know which items are unneeded, and we will provide a prepaid return label so that the items can be returned to us for a refund.

Flicker-free with the Whitest Light Color for Kitchen Can Lighting.

I wanted to order some flicker-free bulbs. Which ones are the whitest light color? I was going to put them in my kitchen in can lighting.

Based on the details provided, we would recommend the 5000K or 6500K versions of our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs. These lights are designed for recessed ceiling lighting and offer full spectrum output and a high CRI of 95+.

If you would like to try this product in the other available color temperatures, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy if any items are unneeded. Simply reach out, and we will gladly provide a prepaid return label for those products.

I have to use flicker free ones. Our home person was recommending a flicker free one that you just came out with. Do you know which one that is?

Based on the details provided, it sounds as though you may be referring to our newly launched CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulbs.

These flicker-free products are available in the 4000K, 5000K, and 6500K color temperatures, and have a greater light output of 1600 lumens compared to our BR30 and A19 bulbs which offer 800 lumens.

What does the color temperature number mean? What's the difference between them?

Generally speaking, 'color temperature' is a measurement of how 'cool' or 'warm' the light being output by a source is.

For example, residential installations such as living areas and kitchens often benefit from ‘warmer’ color temperatures that are lower on the scale, such as 2700K and 3000K.

In comparison, higher color temperatures such as 5000K or 6500K are much ‘cooler’ and mimic natural daylight. These options are often very useful for art production and industrial purposes.

As can be noted by the below post, the color temperature options benefit different installation areas due to differences in output.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

Flicker-free LED Bulbs for Golf Simulation Bay-focused Lighting

I am looking for non-flicking LED Bulbs that we can use to light golf simulation bay-focused lighting that can be combined to get 12,000 lumens.

While we might normally recommend our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for focused lighting, these items unfortunately are not flicker-free and may not be the ideal product for your golf simulator.

That being said, we have several alternatives that you might be interested in, such as the CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulb. As this product outputs 1600 lumens per bulb, 7-8 units should be able to meet the 12,000-lumen target.

It might be helpful to know that previous customers have utilized our LED Strip Lights for golf simulators which integrated high-framerate video capture, such as our FilmGrade™ WHITE LED Strip Lights. These products can offer dimmable flicker-free output, though they would also require dedicated power supplies and additional wiring.

Compatible Lighting for Recessed Cans for Art Studio

I have a small room I use for an art studio. The room size is 8 by 10. It has 9-foot ceilings and windows on two of the four walls. Installed are four overhead recessed lights for lighting on cloudy dim days and at night. I have 2 problems. One is the incorrect temperature of light, and (2) shadows on my work table from the lights above. Can you recommend bulbs/lamps for my recessed cans that will be best for the art studio and diffuse the light to minimize the shadows?

First of all, regarding the color temperature, we recommend using either 5000K or 6500K color temperature lamps under our NorthLux brand to ensure that the light color matches the natural light color coming in through your windows. For recessed light fixtures, the BR30 lamps are generally the most popular option.

We're uncertain if your current lights are for residential use (e.g. 2700K or 3000K), but a daylight-calibrated color temperature of 5000K or higher will ensure that the light appearance will match that of natural daylight.

Since you mention that you have two windows, we assume that at least one of those would not be north-facing. As such, the 5000K may be a better fit for you, rather than the 6500K. Here is an article that you may find helpful in further refining your options:

https://www.waveformlighting.com/art-painting/difference-between-5000k-and-6500k-bulbs

Finally, as far as the shadows and light distribution are concerned, unfortunately, the fixed positioning of the ceiling fixtures will limit our ability to address this issue directly. As an alternative, we would recommend supplementing the light from the sides of the studio space as much as possible, as this will help "fill in" any shadow spots that are cast by the overhead ceiling lights.

A simple solution might be to use our A19 lamps in a floor lamp fixture, but many of our customers have used our T5 linear fixtures which offer a more versatile installation option.

What is the difference between GE Reveal and your products?

I just bought a new house and will be upgrading the lights there. I'm a big GE bulb fan but recently ran into your site. Can you explain the difference between what more you provide vs GE reveal and refreshing series of lights?

By our review of the GE Reveal and Refresh lights, they appear to vary in size and features, though the voltage requirements and lumen output of these items appear to be comparable to our standard A19 lightbulbs. That being said, it appears that some of these GE products are dimmable, whereas only our filament A19 bulbs and BR30 bulbs are compatible with dimmers.

Further, it appears that our LED lights can offer a higher CRI of 95+, whereas the GE products provide a CRI of 90. The higher CRI can be very beneficial for installations such as artwork studios, galleries, and video capture where robust color-accurate illumination is required.

As our products are designed to be human-centric, they are created to provide full-spectrum, high-quality output that provides a high CRI to combat eye fatigue while ensuring color accuracy. Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate the full photometric reports for the GE products, which we would like to use to provide you with a comparison of the spectrum output.

In lieu of that, we have attached a link to our full set of photometric test reports for our full spectrum lights in the hope that it proves to be useful for your product comparison.

Can you also tell me how your light bulbs compare to the product below? It appears to have a higher CRI and R9 value.

https://www.gelighting.com/sun-filled-led

The GE Sun-Filled LED product appears to be a new product with what appears to be an improved spectrum intended to better approximate natural daylight. In this regard, the color performance appears similar to our A19 and BR30 products (both of our products achieve 95 CRI and 80+ R9).

Unfortunately, the GE Lighting website does not provide additional information about the extended CRI values, chromaticity, or flicker performance, so we are unable to make any definitive comparisons beyond the general CRI values that their website indicates.

We appreciate your inquiry and will definitely see if we can find more information or even perform internal testing on the GE Sun-Filled product soon!

We would perhaps recommend purchasing both products to test and compare as we can offer a 30-day free return window for all of our products. (Hopefully, GE Lighting's authorized retailers offer a similar returns program, allowing you to perform these tests).

What size and type of reflector and socket you'd recommend for BR30 bulbs?

I am curious about what size and type of reflector and socket you'd recommend for these BR30 lights.

Though we do not have any specific reflectors or sockets that would recommend, it might be helpful to know that our BR30 lights are compatible with all standard E26 base fixtures.

For example, would something like this work? Is that too much voltage or not enough?

Based on our review, it appears that the fixture provided would be useable with our BR30 lights as they are compatible with 120V AC, 50-60 Hz input. As such, we would not expect that any operational issues would occur when using our lights with this fixture.

I would like to figure out the ideal lighting setup for a wall in my painting studio. Currently, it's recessed in, creating a drop shadow in the top part of the wall. I am trying to figure out if I should get BR30 lights to direct from both sides (using a traditional reflector with light stands) OR mount the T8 LEDs below the recessed ceiling.

Regarding your painting studio setup, supplemental lighting from either the sides or below would be a great way to mitigate the issues with the drop shadow caused by the overhang.

As mentioned, the BR30 lamps have an E26 base and are compatible with reflector lamps such as the one linked below. These lamps on a light stand could work well for your needs.

Our A19 lamps, installed in standard floor lamp fixtures might also be an effective way to increase brightness in the studio area.

Alternatively, you may also want to consider our T5 linear fixtures, which can be mounted along the sides or even on the overhang itself. These light fixtures have the added benefit of being semi-portable when used with the magnet mounts; they can also be permanently fixed into the ceiling and wall locations using the screw mounts.

Ceiling Bulbs Replacement with Daylight Color

I need more daylight! I want to replace the bulbs in my ceiling lights with 90+ LEDs at the most daylight color possible so I don’t slit my wrists. Can you recommend the best bulbs?

For recessed ceiling lighting, we often recommend our BR30 products, which feature a high CRI and full spectrum output, which will hopefully help with the cloudy northwest seasons. Based on the details provided, we would likely recommend the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential, as this is one of the most common color temperatures for residential spaces.

That being said, if you would like to order our cooler color temperatures (such as 4000K, 5000K, and 6500K) to compare in your new home, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy.

Will the BR30 LED Bulbs work outside the US?

I'm interested in "NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio" lights and I'd like to know if they would work in Israel. Electricity in Israel is 230 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second.

Unfortunately, the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio are not designed for global input voltage, and we do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchasing plans.

As a primary alternative, you may be interested in the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio product. These A19 bulbs are designed to be compatible with global voltage standards (90-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz) while offering a high CRI of 5+ and flicker-free output.

Though we have not been able to identify the standard lamp socket base common to Israel, it might be helpful to know that this line of products is available in both the E26 and E27 base standards.

Can you recommend a light fixture for T8 LED Tube?

I am interested in your NorthLux T8 LED Tube for my Painting studio. Will you recommend a light fixture to purchase for This? 'My room is 16' x 27', Ceiling height is 13'. I am also interested in adding track lighting and using your bulbs. Any recommendations on where to buy the track lights? This is a new construction.

While we do not have any specific third-party options to recommend, you may be interested in our LED Ready T8 Fixtures, which are designed to be compatible with our T8 LED lamps.

We would recommend contacting an electrician to confirm that these fixtures are compliant with local zoning laws regarding new construction. Many regions have specific rules for the fixtures in new construction, which an expert will likely be able to assist with.

If you were to use a third-party option, we would recommend checking to ensure that the fixtures contain ballasts that are compatible. And if they are not, those incompatible fixtures can be rewired for ballast bypass.

For your track lighting system, we would recommend our 5000K or 6500K NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio products, which are able to provide full-spectrum light with a high CRI of 95+. While we do not have any track lighting fixtures to recommend, there appear to be several options available from Home Depot.

Are the NorthLux T8 5000k LED bulbs dimmable?

We can confirm that our T8 LED Tube Lights are not compatible with dimmers. We apologize!

Are the BR30 Bulbs compatible with the Australian 230V AC?

Do you ship to Australia and are these bulbs compatible with Australian 230V AC?

We are happy to confirm that we can ship orders internationally to Australia.

Unfortunately, the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio are not designed to be compatible with global voltage standards, and we do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchase planning.

As an alternative, you may be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio, which is compatible with 90-240 V AC and offers the same high-quality light output as the BR30 bulb.

Lighting Recommendation for Painting Studio

I’m interested in purchasing strip or bulb LED tube lights and fixtures from you— something that can light a 400 sq foot space w only a glass garage door as the source of daylight. I hope to find something in the 4500k range, with a high CRI.

As a primary recommendation, you may be interested in our FilmGrade™ HYBRID LED Strip Lights, which can be calibrated to achieve any color temperature between 3200K and 6500K.

For an easier installation that would require less wiring, you might be interested in our 4000K or 5000K options, such as the CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free T8 LED Tube Lights, which are designed to be compatible with our LED-Ready T8 Fixtures.

You might also be interested in our CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ 95 CRI LED Shop Light Fixture, which is designed for easy installation using the included hook and chain. This integrated fixture has been very popular with artists who utilize garages or other areas as studio spaces, due to the easy installation.

Are any or all of these lights dimmable?

The products that we shared are unfortunately not dimmable. If dimmable products are preferable, we might alternatively recommend the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio, or an installation that utilizes our LED Strip Lights.

The LED Strip Lights can be mounted to ceiling or other surfaces by using the Aluminum Channel for LED Flex Strip, and powered using either in-wall power supplies or standard DC power. These products can also be controlled using the majority of standard in-wall dimmers, such as Lutron and others.

If it proves to be helpful, we have attached a few LayoutMap links below which illustrate LED Strip Light installation options. Each diagram contains installation descriptions, as well as links to each of the recommended connecters and power supplies.

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3001-1A

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3001-1B

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3002_2B

I’d like to know if you have a tube light structure that’s LED and also dimmable. Do the strips work in the first hanging fixture you sent?

Unfortunately, we do not have any fixtures which are flicker-free and dimmable at this time. We do sincerely apologize for any impact this may have on your purchasing plans.

As a further note, the LED Shop Light fixtures shared in my initial reply are designed with pre-attached LED lighting products within. As such, no additional lighting products are required for operation.

Are the LED shop light fixtures flicker free? Space is a total of 400 sq ft. Could the fixture be hung upside down so that it bounces off the ceiling as opposed to being hung as overhead lights?

We can confirm that the LED Shop Light Fixtures are indeed flicker-free.

While these fixtures could be installed in such a fashion that they shine directly upwards for indirect lighting, they are designed to be hung from the included hook and chain.

Based on the dimensions provided, it appears that the space would be evenly illuminated for artwork creation with 31,451 lumens. This target could be reached with seven of the LED Shop Light fixtures, which each output 4,200 lumens.

As an alternative, the target could also be reached using 18 units of the T8 LED Tube Light products, which are designed to be compatible with our LED Ready T8 Fixtures.

Flicker-free LED Flood Light Style LED Bulb

Do you have a non-flicker 50 or 60-watt flood light style bulb that would work with a dimmer switch?

While they are not flicker-free, we might recommend our 60W-equivalent Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulbs or the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs, which offer high CRI output and are designed to be compatible with dimmers.

High CRI LED Lights for Art Studio

What is most economical for lighting 350 sq ft studio with students working and 8.5' ceilings?

We would likely recommend our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio or NorthLux™ 95 CRI T8 LED Tube for Art & Studio products, which are designed to provide high-CRI output for studio spaces and artwork creation.

High CRI Dimmable Candelabra Bulbs

I am trying to find dimmable, high CRI candelabra bulbs but am having a really hard time finding them. Do you have them and I am missing them do they just not exist with dimming capability? If not, I could purchase an adapter to go from a E12 to the normal A19 base, but is there any issues doing that for light performance? Finally, on the A19 fixture, I was hoping for a dimmable, 60W equivalent 3000K bulb, what light would you recommend?

We currently do not sell E12 candelabra bulbs at the moment, and we do apologize for any impact this has on your purchase planning.

While we have not attempted to use A19 bulbs with an E12 base fixture through an adapter, we would recommend checking the voltage of the fixture to ensure compatibility. These details are often listed on stickers applied to the base of the fixture.

Given the details provided, we would recommend our Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential as a dimmable A19 option in 3000K. That said, it might be helpful to know that this product is a 40W equivalent bulb, rather than a 60W equivalent.

High CRI Dimmable Bulbs

Are any of your high CRI high kelvin bulbs dimmable?

Based on the details provided, you might be interested in our 5000K or 6500K NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio, which are dimmable and have a high CRI of 95+.

What is the UV-A and UV-B output of the BR30 LED Bulb for Birds?

What is the UBA and UVB output of this bulb? Also, do you have a fluorescent tube that has similar specifications? My application is strictly for my pet parrots.

We can confirm that the Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds product does not emit any UV-A or UV-B output. If UV-A and UV-B output is required for your aviary installation, we would likely recommend checking with local avian experts for product recommendations.

The closest T8 match in our catalog would be the 6500K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free T8 LED Tube Lights, which offer a high CRI and be used with our newly launched LED-Ready T8 LED Tube Light Fixture. As can be noted within the product photometric report, this product also does not emit UV-A or UV-B output.

Recommended dimmer switch for BR30 bulbs

Can you recommend a dimmer switch for use with your BR30s?

We can confirm that our BR30 lightbulbs have been tested to be compatible with all phase dimmers that would be available from third-party storefronts such as Home Depot.

Do you have 19A 10W (60w replacement) 95 CRI dimmable 3000K bulb?

Are you planning to make a 19A 10w (60w replacement) 95 CRI dimmable 3000K with a good flood? I have several recessed light fixtures on dimmers I am trying to find high-quality replacement bulbs for.

We, unfortunately not aware of any plans to introduce a 10W version of our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI A19 LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential product. We apologize!

In the interim, you might alternatively be interested in our dimmable 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential product, which is designed for recessed ceiling lighting.

What is the warm up time of the BR30 bulb?

We have a set of BR30 lights that we use for important experiments. We would like to know the warm-up time for these lights after which the light intensity is stable. Please reply as soon as you can.

Unlike traditional incandescent lightbulbs or fluorescent tube lights, our LED lightbulbs are not expected to have any warmup time and should provide optimal output without delay.

We are also using your UV floodlights at 395 nm. Do they also not have any warm-up time? It’ll be great if they don’t.

We can confirm that our realUV™ LED Flood Lights are not expected to display any warm-up time delays and should emit full output upon startup.

Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb Dimension

I am interested in buying some of the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb. Could you provide me with an exact measurement of the widest circumference of this bulb? I already have some recessed lighting fixtures that we are installing and I want to make sure that these bulbs will fit before ordering a dozen of them.

We can confirm that the circumference of our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb at the widest point is 11.78 in (298.45 mm). We can further confirm that the diameter of this product at the widest point is 3.75 inches (95 mm).

In the hopes that it proves to be helpful, we have attached a link below to the BR30 product specification sheet below.

Pure White LED Bulb for Residential Lighting

I found that most residential LED bulbs look somewhat orange in color. Especially at night. I find them hard to read. I want a pure white bulb but find them difficult to attain. What do you recommend, please? I would also like a high-wattage bulb 150-watt equivalent.

For a neutral white color temperature, we usually recommend the 4000K option. If it proves to be helpful, we have attached a color temperature guide from our website below.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

While we do not have a 150W equivalent currently available, you may alternatively be interested in our new 100W-equivalent 4000K CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulb.

Can you please explain what 4000K, 5000K, and 6500K means? I appreciate your willingness to help me understand LED technology, which is somewhat difficult to understand.

Generally speaking, color temperatures (4000K, 5000K, 6500K) are measurements for the color of light being produced by a light source, measured in degrees Kelvin.

For example, the ‘warm orange’ tones that you referenced earlier were likely the output of ‘warm' color temperature lightbulbs, such as 2700K or 3000K. These warmer color temperatures are usually recommended for homes and residential properties.

Comparatively, the 'cool white' lights that you have likely seen in factories, large stores such as Costco, or hospitals are usually 5000K or 6500K. Offices usually use the more 'neutral' 4000K color temperature.

In the hopes that it proves to be helpful, we have attached an image from a blog post on our website below, which displays the visible difference that the most common color temperatures would have on the same kitchen installation. As you can tell from the image, the higher degrees Kelvin, the cooler the light output becomes.

Lighting Recommendation for my Art Home Studio Office

I'm a textile surface pattern designer and fashion designer. I work from home at my home studio office and I am in major need of new lighting. I am in a condo currently and the ceilings are about 11ft high where my lighting will need to be placed. I would like the 5000k lighting with high CRI for color matching/Pantone and painting. The only issue is I am new to figuring out what to buy. I would ideally like to buy a long 6-8ft track lighting to place on the ceiling of my studio. I want track lighting because I still want the lighting fixture to at least look nice since it is a residential condo.

Our high CRI bulbs at 5000K sound like a great fit for your home studio office, especially for textile color reproduction accuracy.

Unfortunately, we don't have any products that would work with track lighting fixtures. we completely understand the reason for this request for aesthetic purposes, and apologize for the inconvenience! I will definitely let our product development team know of your interest.

Currently, the closest option for a residential installation would be our BR30 lamps, which fit into standard ceiling can fixtures. Please see below for the product link:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/northlux-95-cri-br30-led-bulb-for-artwork-painting

We also offer some T5 linear lights which can be mounted onto various surfaces. This product does not require any other fixtures in our housings and can be plugged into a wall outlet directly. Below is the product link:

LED Recommendation for Construction Project

Looking to specify your lamps in new construction and need recommendations.

Our LED products sound like they may be a great fit for your new construction project. For an integrated LED solution, our LED strip lights have been a very popular option, which I have linked to below for your convenience:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/ultra-high-95-cri-led-strip-lights-for-home-residential

What about downlighting for general illumination in a residential situation and spotlighting for artwork? Right now we are using old technology with lighter downlights, and spots with halogen lamps. We want our new construction to be all LED lighting above 90 CRI. I've looked at your lamps and don't know if I'm seeing what is compatible with flush ceiling downlights or small swivel spotlights that would take a small bulb.

For downlighting applications, the only product we currently offer is a BR30 lamp which uses an E26 base and fits inside 5" or larger ceiling cans. Depending on your local jurisdiction, this may or may not be an issue for new construction.

We currently do not have any ceiling fixtures but are hoping to launch some additional offerings shortly.

Similarly, we do not offer any spotlights as everything we offer is either in a 120-degree flood or wider beam angle.

Lighting Option for an Art Gallery

I have a large gallery with high ceilings and track lighting and I would like to purchase 26 bulbs that are powerful enough to provide a spotlight to work about 4-6 feet in distance. I have been looking at your Northlux 95 CRI LED bulbs and prefer to have them mimic the appearance as if the paintings are in direct sunlight so was leaning more toward the 6500K bulbs. I use a lot of texture and oil paint in my work and was hoping to get proper lighting for this reason. Is this a bulb you recommend?

For gallery track lighting where daylight color temperature is preferable, we would recommend the 6500K option of the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio.

If you wind up preferring the 5000K options, please note that we offer a 30-day return policy for all orders. Simply let us know, and we will gladly provide a prepaid return label for any unneeded products.

Health LED Lighting Fixtures

What products do you have so I can evaluate their application in my remodeling? I have an electrician who can follow up to address specs/tech matters.

Our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs are a great option for recessed lighting, though they are not flicker-free as our A19 and A21 LED bulbs are.

While we do not sell integrated recessed light fixtures, you might alternatively be interested in our ceiling-mounted LED-Ready T8 Tube Light Fixtures, which are designed to be compatible with our flicker-free CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free T8 LED Tube Lights.

LED Lights Recommendation for Art Studio

Could someone help me decide which light and what Kelvin I should use for my art studio? I have two rooms in my apartment where I do painting and glare on the palette from the windows and from the track lights above is an issue. Will a fluorescent bulb cut down on glare? I use a glass palette and paint mainly in oils that already have a slight sheen. My ceilings are not very high, about 11 feet.

For artwork production, we typically recommend the 5000K and 6500K NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio or the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio. The latter option might be specifically useful for your studio track lighting.

We have provided a link comparing the color temperature options below, which We do hope proves to be helpful. In short, if the goal is to replicate natural daylight, we suggest the 6500K option.

Difference Between 5000K and 6500K Bulbs

Do you have a 60-watt equivalent A19 3000K dimmable bulb?

There seem to be only 40w dimmable A19 bulbs on your website or am I not looking in the right place? I'm looking for 800 lumens.

While our standard non-filament A19 bulbs are 60W equivalent and offer 800 lumens, we can confirm that they are unfortunately not dimmable.

Depending on the fixture being utilized, you might alternatively be interested in our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential, which is a 60W equivalent dimmable product.

Recessed Can LED Bulbs for Basement Lighting

What could I put in my ceiling, which is currently cans? And do you have an idea for how to light "fake windows" - I've read about 2'x4' LED panels. I'd like natural-looking light in the basement.

For recessed can lighting in homes, we typically recommend the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential.

These products are dimmable and offer a high CRI of 95+, which can make quite the difference in low-light installation areas such as basements.

How is your full-spectrum light bulb compared to another?

I have a client who purchased some white Poplar 9w LED full spectrum light bulbs 800 lumens for their clinic. The spaces are not well-lit due to the improper amount of lights per room. Can you tell me how your product compares to these? I am considering purchasing yours to replace theirs.

While we're not familiar with the WhitePoplar brand, it does not appear that they provide photometric reports for the CRI and light output in the listings we have reviewed.

As such, it is slightly more difficult to ascertain the difference in the quality of light output between those products and our own A19 95+ CRI bulbs.

As one alternative, our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs are often used for recessed lighting in offices, as the narrower beam angle allows for a focused light output alongside a CRI of 95+.

Do you have a BR30 bulbs in 2700K?

I'd like to purchase the BR30 Bulbs in 2700K. It doesn't look like you offer this product in that color temperature. Could you please advise me of a similar product or if you plan to stock 2700K?

We can confirm that we do not sell the BR30 bulbs in the 2700K color temperature. We apologize!

As alternatives, we might recommend our 2700K CENTRIC HOME™ Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulb or the 2700K CENTRIC HOME™ Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulb.

Do you have a recommended LED dimmer for BR30 bulbs?

I just bought six 60W, 800 Lumen, and 5000K BR30 bulbs for my video production space. What brand of dimmers do you recommend? Have some installed (Lutron I believe) but the dimming range isn't very large. Would like to dim them further.

The minimum dimming level for our lamps is generally ~20% or so, so we completely understand the concern regarding the dimming range. We generally test with Lutron and Leviton dimmers and are unfortunately not aware of any specific dimmer models which may improve the dimming range. Some Lutron dimmers do have an adjustment/calibration dial which may help a bit in lowering the minimum brightness.

Our engineering team is working on improvements to expand the dimming range to 0.1% - 100% and hopes to have this available in a future product iteration.

Housing for Recessed Lighting in a Studio

I’m currently looking for bulbs for the studio that I’m building. The space is roughly 375 square feet with 9 recessed cans in the ceiling. I’m currently looking at the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio.

Generally speaking, we like to recommend the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio products in the 5000K and 6500K options for artwork production.

For the recessed ceiling lighting, you also might be interested in the BR30 NorthLux™ bulbs in the same color temperature options.

Does the NorthLux work better for recessed cans? Does light have more area? Maybe similar to a flood light?

As the BR30 bulbs have a narrower beam angle than the A19 bulbs, the output will be more focused downward, which can be quite helpful for recessed ceiling lighting.

That said, our BR30 bulbs are not flicker-free, which might be a consideration for studio spaces that are to be used for high-framerate video capture.

Can I install a dimmer control for Avian Full Spectrum A19 LED Bulb?

Can I install programmable dimmer control for Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds? Will it affect the function of the light bulb or will it damage the bulb? I would like to simulate the actual slow sunrise and slow sunset patterns for my bird cage.

Unfortunately, we can confirm that the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb is not compatible with dimmers. As such, utilizing the lightbulb with a dimmer could potentially cause performance issues.

That said, you might also be interested in our dimmable Avian Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Birds, though we would encourage you to ensure that the input voltage of 120 V AC, 50-60 Hz is compatible with your local voltage standards.

Choosing Proper Lights for Home Reno Project

I am doing a home reno project that is including renovating two bathrooms and the kitchen. Could you help me figure out which of your products is right for me and let me know product availability? Full-spectrum, flicker-free, low EMF are my desired features for lighting.

Ceiling fixtures: I will have two of these installed (one already is): Sputnik chandelier

For the Sputnik chandelier, we would recommend the dimmable 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential. The 3000K color temperature is the most common option for kitchens and dining areas.

Under-cabinet task lighting (four zones): I'm looking for a permanent power supply installation of strip lighting instead of each zone lighting having to take up a wall plug.

For the under-cabinet kitchen zones, I would recommend the 3000K CENTRIC HOME™ LED Strip Lights for Home & Residential with the Aluminum Channel for LED Flex Strip and TRIAC dimmable power supply.

Please note that these 12V LED strip light products have a maximum combined length of 16.4 feet, meaning that connected lengths greater than that will experience diminished output.

As such, if the under-cabinet zones are to utilize greater than 16.4 feet of product, we would recommend utilizing a second dedicated reel of LED strip lights paired with a dedicated dimmable power supply.

As can be noted in the below LayoutMap, multiple power supplies, and LED strip lights can be connected to the same dimmer. Our power supplies are also compatible with smart home dimmers.

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3001-1C

If you would like to provide us with a rough layout of the under-cabinet installation areas, I would be more than happy to provide a recommended parts list and order quantity.

High hats: My licensed electrician is supplying these. He said he can choose styles that take bulbs instead of LED light covers, but he knows nothing about flicker-free, full-spectrum lighting.

For dimmable lightbulbs that would be compatible with a partially or fully enclosed high-hat fixture, we would recommend the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb.

Bathrooms: I've gotten this wall fixture for both bathrooms: Maxim Lighting Essentials 4-Light polished chrome bath vanity light.

Based on our review of the fixture, I would recommend the Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential, as it is suitable for enclosed fixtures as well as use in damp locations such as bathrooms. We usually recommend 2700K or 3000K for those areas.

Garage: I currently have a ceiling fixture that uses florescent bulbs. 48". I don't spend a lot of time out there and am not sure I want to spend extra for specialty bulbs.

For the garage fluorescent fixture, we would recommend our 5000K NorthLux™ 95 CRI T8 LED Tube for Art & Studio. Before purchase, we recommend checking to ensure that if a ballast is utilized within the fixtures, it is compatible with our LED tube lights. If not, these lights can also be installed using a ballast-bypass method.

As a final note, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy if items within your purchase aren’t quite the right fit. For the LED strip lights, we are happy to accept them as returns so long as they have not been cut or altered.

LED Bulb for Desk Lamp Used for Reading

I'm looking for an eye-healthy bulb for desk lamps used for reading and over computer desks. Most important to us is a bulb good for the eyes in this usage.

We have attached two 3000K lightbulb product links below that might be a good fit for your desk. Though both products below have the same CRI and color temperatures available, the A21 bulb can produce more light than the A19 (800 vs 1600 lumens), which could be useful if your desk lamp utilizes a single bulb. Anecdotally, the 3000K A21 is also my lightbulb of choice for computer work and reading.

We have also provided a link to a guide for selecting the right color temperature below, which could be useful for your purchase planning.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

3000K CENTRIC HOME™ Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulb

3000K CENTRIC HOME™ Flicker-Free A21 15W LED Bulb

Are the BR30 bulbs outdoors safe?

I have several waveform lighting bulbs that I am very happy with. I'm about to do some outdoor lighting that is a bit exposed (eg., this cheap home depot fixture) above a grill. Will your BR30 bulbs be ok outdoors?

Unfortunately, our BR30 LED lights are not suitable for outdoor environments, as they are not IP-Rated. Though our A19 filament bulbs are designed to be suitable for damp locations, they are also intended for indoor use only.

Exposed Roof Truss LED Lighting for Home Indirect Lighting

I am trying to provide roof truss lighting options to a client that wants to indirectly light home. 12v-24v LED. Could strip or bulbs on a fixture. Each should come with its own individual transformer. I can send pictures of the roof if needed. The ceiling interior height starts at 8ft and soars to 20ft at the ridge.

In terms of space square footage, the home is 3000 sq ft. Each space would have a different amount of fixtures based on brightness, type of fixture, and amount of rafters in the space. My thoughts are to use the same fixture in the desired varying quantities in each space.

Though we do not have any spotlight fixtures in our catalog, the first bulb option that comes to mind would be our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential, which is the most popular color temperature for common areas in homes.

As an LED strip light option, we would recommend the 3000K CENTRIC HOME™ LED Strip Lights for Home & Residential. I can easily imagine an installation where the lengths of the LED strip lights are mounted within our connected channels in the truss spans (or alternatively upon the trusses).

When installing the LED strip lights, the core considerations are the maximum combined lengths of the products (16.4 feet for 12V, 32.8 feet for 24V), as well as the amount of power being drawn per foot of product (5.5 watts per foot) in relation to the available output of the power supplies.

For the ceiling installations, we would recommend utilizing dedicated in-wall power supplies such as our TRIAC Dimmable Power Supply for LED Strip, which offers 120W for the 12V version, and 96W for the 24V version.

For example, if four 12V 16.4 ft reels (requiring 90.2 watts each) were installed within the channels, we would recommend four total power supplies, each being dedicated to powering one reel (as the 12V power supplies can offer 120W). Additionally, our power supplies are compatible with many smart-home dimmer products.

For your layout considerations, you might also find value in our lumen estimation calculator, which can provide product quantity suggestions to meet the illumination needs of the space based on the dimensions. Additionally, our Layout Maps might be of value, as they contain links to the recommended connectors and power supplies.

Does it matter if the bulbs do not fit entirely inside the canister?

Does it matter if the bulbs do not fit entirely inside the canister? 60-watt, CRI 95, 5000k Spotlights

Generally speaking, so long as the recessed lighting bulbs can fit securely within the light socket, it should not make a large difference whether the bulb end protrudes from the canister.

That being said, please note that as our BR30 and A19 bulbs are not designed for fully enclosed fixtures, we would recommend installing them within canisters that are not fully enclosed so that airflow can assist in heat dissipation.

Lighting Options for Photography and Reptile Habitat Needs

I'm currently researching lighting options for a home addition that's currently in process at our primary residence. This is essentially a shop that's 30x20, but CRI and overall brightness are critical. I'm a breeder of high-end Leopard geckos (reptiles), and accurate photography (color representation) is an absolute must. I can only assume that I should be targeting a CRI of 90 or higher. With my photography, I tend to err more on the side of daylight or cooler about Kelvin and have a strong distaste for what I would consider 'warm' lighting.

We are happy to confirm that we have several products available which could be a great match for your photography and reptile habitat needs. Further, we can also confirm that the vast majority of our products offer a CRI higher than 95.

As a starting point, you may find value in our Lumen Estimation Calculator tool. By inputting the dimensions of the room including ceiling height, as well as selecting the primary use of the room, the tool can suggest a total lumen output and suggest the number of products required to meet the illumination goal.

In the interim, we might recommend the NorthLux line of products, which are designed with photography and capture in mind. You may also be interested in our 99 CRI Absolute Series products, which offer D50 and D65 light that is virtually indistinguishable from full daylight.

2700K vs. 3000K: Which is recommended for home and residential applications?

What’s the biggest seller between the 2700 & 3000? Do most prefer to use 2700 in bedrooms & living room, & 3000 in bathrooms, kitchen & laundry room? Is the 95 CRI best? Can they be used in enclosed ceiling fixtures? Running low on my old GE Reveal incandescent bulbs, plus would like to save on electricity.

We have shared a blog post link below that compares the 2700K and 3000K color temperatures for home installations, which we hope proves to be helpful.

As CRI is a measurement comparing the quality of light output to that of natural sunlight on a scale from 0-100, we can confirm that the 95 CRI offered by our products will result in a very high quality of light output.

Further, as the LED light bulbs contain internal circuitry which benefits from a moderate amount of airflow for heat dissipation, we do not recommend utilizing them in enclosed fixtures.

Choosing Between 2700K and 3000K

Are y’all working on the development of your bulbs that can be used in enclosed fixtures like in my kitchen, hallways, laundry room & closets? Right now I can only use these for a bathroom vanity, a pendant light & lamps. Which is your bestseller for residential? The 2700 or 3000?

What do you recommend for use in enclosed fixtures to avoid flicker? Incandescent or halogen rather than LED that can be used in enclosed fixtures?

We are happy to confirm that we look forward to improving our flicker-free products to allow for enclosed fixture installation down the road, though we do not have an expected availability date for such a product at this time.

We can also confirm that as many of our LED lights contain hardware and wiring that traditional halogen and incandescent bulbs do not utilize, they can malfunction when the heat being generated is not able to dissipate via a moderate amount of airflow.

Our Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential might be a great option as they can be installed within enclosed fixtures without the need for airflow.

Our customers tend to prefer 2700K for living areas such as bedrooms, where the 3000K temperature is more commonly installed within kitchens and bathrooms. Unfortunately, we do not have any sales data on hand regarding which option is most popular overall.

That said, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy if you would like to order both options to make direct product comparisons.

3000K vs. 4000K BR30 Bulbs for Home and Residential Lighting

I need to purchase BR30 bulbs for my new construction home build and I am having great difficulty deciding between 3000k and 4000k on the color spectrum. I actually fear that 3k will be too yellow and 4k may be too white.

We have attached an article below which contains tips for making an informed color temperature selection for each type of installation area.

In short, we generally recommend 2700K for living areas and 3000K for kitchens and dining areas. The 4000K on the other hand, is usually recommended for retail areas and office spaces.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

Do you have any dimmable flicker-free bulbs?

I came across your website in my search for flicker-free bulbs. I currently have Philips Hue bulbs throughout my home, and I am becoming more frustrated at their terrible flicker (primarily because it makes it impossible to record videos at 24fps, but also I suspect some of my headaches are caused by them.) I see you have the Centric Home bulbs (4005.27), which are 60W equivalent and are completely flicker-free. I also see you have Filament bulbs (4002.27) which are 40W equivalent and dimmable, however, they do not mention flicker-free at all, and looking at their Photometric Report I see a flicker percentage of nearly 20% - I don't know if this is high or low, but it certainly isn't 0. So I guess I have 2 questions: (1) Do you have any dimmable flicker-free bulbs, or will there be any coming to market soon? (2) If not, do you have any non-dimmable flicker-free bulbs that are 40W equivalent?

We currently do not have any A19 bulbs which are both dimmable and flicker-free, though we do hope to introduce such a product in the future.

The closest match for a 40W equivalent would be the Lux24 A19 filament bulb, though it is not flicker-free as you previously mentioned.

That said, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy if you would like to try out our A19 filament bulbs and other products.

As an alternative for your video recording, you may also be interested in our line of LED strip light products. Though the configurations are more involved than a typical light fixture, these products can provide both dimming and flicker-free output alongside a high CRI of 95+. In some instances, the CRI of our LED strip lights is as high as 99. These lights and power supplies are also designed to be compatible with smart home dimming systems, such as Lutron Caseta.

High CRI 95 LED Track Lights for Art Studio Installation

I would like lighting for my painting studio that has a 95+ CRI rating, 5000K and 5000 lumens and I'd prefer to use in-track lighting so I'd need bulbs vs tubes. Please let me know if you have products to meet those specifications. I'd also like the track lighting if you carry that.

For 5000K track lighting systems, we usually recommend the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio products. This item can deliver full-spectrum light output and offers a high CRI of 95+, though these BR30 bulbs have an output of 800 lumens per light, which is much less than the 5000 lumens referenced.

As an alternative, you may also be interested in the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio product, though the wider beam angle may not be ideal for all track lighting installations where a precise illumination target is preferred. Additionally, you may also find value in utilizing wall-dimmer-controlled track lighting of the 5000K 99 CRI LED strip lights installed within ceiling-mounted channels.

I like the Northlux 95 e26 but I’d prefer it to be dimmable. Is there a way to make that happen? If so do you have track lighting that will work with them?

If not, I think I may be interested in the LED strips, with dimmer and ceiling-mounted channels since they can be dimmed. I have a few questions. How bright do they get? It was suggested that I need 5000 lumens so how many would I need for a 300-square-foot room? Also, how does one change the strips, and how long do they last?

We are happy to confirm that the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio product is indeed dimmable, and will work with both in-wall dimmers and fixture dimmers.

Based on my estimates using the Lumen Estimation Calculator tool from our website, it appears that a 300-square-foot space would benefit from roughly 5,961 lumens. By inputting the ceiling height of the room within the calculator you will likely receive a more accurate estimate, as we input an 8-foot ceiling height in my calculation.

The above illumination target can be accomplished by utilizing 16 feet of the LED Strip Light products, which can output 375 lumens per foot.

As the ABSOLUTE SERIES™ LED Flexible Strips have a three-year warranty, please feel free to contact us if you experience any product failure within that window, and we would gladly provide a warranty replacement.

When replacing the LED strip lights, we usually recommend utilizing the 3M ‘adhesive remover’ product, though some customers find value in additionally utilizing thin chisels to pry the adhesive off of the aluminum channels.

Dimmable A19 Bulbs for Recording Studio

I'm looking for a solution in my recording studio to add a light just like yours but with the option to dim. Do you have any recommendations on how to accomplish this with your lights? (Maybe on a special dimmer?

Though we can confirm that the CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulbs are not compatible with dimmers, we do have a few other options that we might instead recommend. For example, the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs feature the same high CRI of 95+ as the Centric A19 bulbs, while also being compatible with light fixture dimmers and wall dimmers.

Another option, though more complex in the setup process, might be the CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ LED Strip Lights for Commercial & Retail products, which are available in most of the same color temperatures as the above A19 bulb. This product can be paired with wall dimmers and in-wall power supplies, as well as 24V DC-plug power supplies and the LED Dimmer.

High CRI 90+ Replacement Lights for Indoor Installation

My decorator wants me to replace my bulbs with CRI 90 or higher to improve the natural color of the room. I'm new to these bulbs and would appreciate your assistance. These are for indoor lights.

As you consider the options in our catalog in the interim, it might be helpful to know that our products offer a CRI of 95+, which means that the quality of light output is extremely similar to full noon daylight. We have also attached a few instructional resources from our website below, which we hope prove to be useful for your purchase planning.

Which LED Light Color Temperature Should I Choose?

Home & Residential Lighting

High CRI LED Lighting

The lights I will be replacing will be in the bathroom, bedroom, and one in the kitchen above the sink. The bulbs that are in now make the walls look pink instead of light gray. I have four bulbs over the counter in the bathroom. I’m hoping to have not just better color, but good light for makeup application. The bedroom had an overhead with two bulbs.

I have two flush mounts in the kitchen and the dining room that have this piece with a bunch of little Led lights. The hallway has the same thing. I have never seen this before, so have no idea if it can be changed to just regular bulbs. I would like the bathroom and kitchen to be bright, the bedroom a little softer.

Though we, unfortunately, do not have replacements for the embedded LED light fixtures within the dining room and hallway fixtures, we do have A19 products that appear to be compatible with the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen light fixtures.

As referenced within the previously provided article, we generally recommend utilizing 2700K for living areas such as bedrooms and hallways. For kitchen spaces and dining areas, we would instead recommend utilizing 3000K lights.

As such, I recommend our 2700K and 3000K CENTRIC HOME™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulbs for those spaces. That said, please note that these A19 lights are not compatible with dimmers. If you have space that might benefit from in-wall dimmers, we would then recommend the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential light (though please be advised that this item is out of stock until August 16th).

These products can offer not only full-spectrum light output, but also feature a high CRI of 95+. As CRI is a measurement for how similar the quality of light is to full daylight on a scale from 0-100, I believe that these lights would benefit each room with much improved high-quality output.

Full-Spectrum LED Bulbs for Residential Lighting

We are looking to replace our std LED with full spectrum and have some questions regarding the correct ones to use. They will have the E26 base but would like some guidance on the other features.

We can recommend our CENTRIC HOME™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulbs, which are full-spectrum, use the E26 base, and are available in the most common residential color temperatures of 2700K and 3000K.

Alternatively, you may also be interested in our Ultra High 95 CRI A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential, which is a filament-style LED bulb that uses the E26 base, and is also able to offer full-spectrum light output.

Do you have a full-spectrum light compatible with 19W CFL fixture?

I just got a new desk lamp, and it came with a 19W CFL spiral bulb that gives a horrid yellow light. Hate it! Do you have a full spectrum light in this configuration? I only need one bulb, but would probably order two to have a backup.

So long as the 19W CFL utilizes the standard E26 base, which is likely listed on the fixture label, then our full-spectrum A19 bulbs should be fully compatible with the desk light.

As such, we might recommend our 3000K CENTRIC HOME™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 LED Bulb, though please note that it is currently out of stock until May 24th. Generally speaking, 2700K-3000K are great color temperatures for living spaces, though some may prefer a cooler color temperature for productivity.

Compatible Power Supply and Dimmer for LED Strip

I am in the process of building a house with lots of LED strip lighting and would like to use your FilmGrade series in 3,200K and your Centric Daylight Series in 4,000K. I believe I can use these two dimmable power supplies. It isn’t quite clear to me what the difference between these two is. Could you please recommend a product? Also, in the list of compatible dimmers that are available for both of these power supplies, I did not see the Lutron Sunnata dimmer STCL-153PH-WH. I would expect this dimmer to be compatible.

The primary difference between these two items can be found in the product dimensions, as the Centric Series power supply has a smaller footprint which can be helpful for some installations that have less available space. The secondary difference is that the TRIAC can offer 120W of 12V power, whereas the Centric can offer 96W of 12V power.

Compatibility-wise, we can confirm that either will work well with any of our LED strip light products and can provide flicker-free functionality.

Further, the Lutron Sunnata STCL-153P was tested and confirmed for compatibility. Please see the below document.

What is the beam angle of BR30 bulbs?

Looking at your bulbs for our old track lighting fixtures, and am impressed with the CRI 95 capabilities. I see no mention, for either those for artists or jewelry, of what the beam angle is.

As can be noted in the BR30 product data sheet, the beam angle of these products is 120 degrees.

Avian Full Spectrum Light with UV-A & UV-B

What would be the most optimal setup regarding my situation and needs? I have a background as a lighting designer and have experience in LED fixtures and concepts with implementing UVA and UVB but using HO Fluorescents to create the output or affective properties. At that rate, it’s a product that requires special care and consideration.

With that said, based on the current market availability, would you say your line of lamps holds its own at the top for full spectrum and benefit in health, and intended purpose in Avian Supplemental Lighting?

Within the visible spectrum, I can confirm that our LED products can offer a high-end CRI output of 95-100. This CRI number defines how similar the spectral output is to full daylight.

That being said, please note that these products do not have ultraviolet output. If UV-A and UV-B output is necessary for your application, we might recommend utilizing a third-party option that offers UV-A/B output as the primary light or utilizes a UV-A/B product in tandem with our high CRI products.

For the A19 form factor, we would recommend the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds product, which offers a CRI of 95.

As an alternative, we might also recommend the 6500K ABSOLUTE SERIES™ LED Flexible Strip, which offers a CRI of 99, making it virtually indistinguishable from daylight. A customer that I recently corresponded with chose this product for their own avian installation, thanks in part to the high CRI output.

I have also attached links below for two layout guides, which illustrate how the absolute series LED light strips can be configured. This page includes links to the optional and required accessories, as well as additional instructions.

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3002_3E

LayoutMaps™ - LED Strip Light Layout 3002_3C

For LED Strip, I don't need 16’ of it and saw you have it per foot. I don't remember off hand how many watts/ft they were, but I'm sure 4’ is all I need. If we take that and couple it with what? what would your suggestion be in lamps for producing the UVA & B that we need? Are you familiar with the %’s that are safe and targeted for, in my case, exotic birds (large)?

Though many of our other LED strip lights are available in 3.2 ft increments, the absolute series 99 CRI LED strip lights are currently only available in 16.4 ft reels. We apologize!

To power a 4 ft length of the LED strip light, we would recommend a single 12V FilmGrade™ DC Power Supply for LED Strip. As the strip lights contain pre-applied barrel jack adapters, no additional connecter accessories would be required.

Further, as our expertise is limited to our own products we currently do not have any UV-B product that we could recommend and are not aware of the safe UV-B exposure levels that avian species might require.

Do you have a CRI 90+ track lighting bulb with a color temperature that brings out the best in the artwork?

I have an art gallery, and my paintings are mostly in blue tones. I want to install a track lighting system, and I am acquiring if you carry bulbs with a Kelvin and CRI that will bring out the best in my artwork.

We generally recommend the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential products for art gallery illumination, as 3000K appears to be the standardized color temperature used in art galleries.

As an alternative, you may also be interested in the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio products, which several customers have installed in studio and gallery spaces. The 5000K and 6500K options would offer a much cooler light than the 3000K option above, which your blue-tone artwork might benefit from.

Color Accuracy Bulb for Building a Lightbox or Photo Booth

I was interested in a few of the products you guys sell and was wondering do you guys have a flicker-free high CRI bulb with a color temp of 6500k. I went through the bulbs and am still confused about all these options. I was looking at 4005.D65 4005.65, and some of the other NorthLux and centric series and wasn't sure what would be best for color accuracy, I am building a lightbox/ photo booth for checking the color accuracy of plastic samples.

Based on the details provided, I would recommend the 6500K (D65) NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio products, which I can confirm as being flicker-free.

This product is also designed to conform to the ISO D65 standard, which is beneficial for installations that require an extremely low variability in light output.

If you would like to purchase a few of the options previously mentioned to make direct product comparisons in your space, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy. Simply reach out to let us know which items you would like to return, and we will quickly issue a prepaid return label.

Is the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb also flicker-free? And are the specification and other product documents available to look at?

The NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio, as well as our other BR30 bulbs, share a 6% flicker rate. Though not totally flicker-free as our A19 bulbs family of products are, it does offer a fairly low flicker rate.

In the interim, I have provided a link to the product specification sheet below, which I hope proves to be useful:

BR30 Specification Sheet: https://www.waveformlighting.com/datasheets/CS_4011.pdf

Do you have a full spectrum 6-inch dimmable recessed lights?

I’m looking to get a true full spectrum 6 inch dimmable recessed lights for a kitchen.

We can confirm that we currently sell many full-spectrum LED BR30 bulbs, such as the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential product, which are dimmable and commonly used within recessed ceiling lights.

Alternatively, there do appear to be other options available online for 6” integrated LED fixture products. Unfortunately, the integrated style is not a form factor that we currently sell.

Are the BR30 bulbs flicker-free?

I'm interested in the BR30 4000K bulbs. I'd like to know are these bulbs flicker-free. I'm very sensitive to flicker.

Our BR30 lamps are currently not considered flicker-free and have a measured flicker rate of 6%.

Do keep in mind that 6% is a very low flicker rate and may be sufficiently low; incandescent bulbs, for example, typically have a flicker rate of 15-25%.

Do you make full spectrum LED lighting for recess can downlights?

Do you make full spectrum LED lighting for recess can downlights trim in 4" & 6"

We do not have any direct ceiling lamp replacements, but we do offer BR30 retrofit lamps which may be of interest. These have a diameter of 3.75 inches and should work well in both 4" and 6" ceiling fixtures.

Full Spectrum and Flicker-free LED Recessed Lights

It has been recommended that the recessed lights in my autistic son’s basement bedroom with a low ceiling be full spectrum non flicker. What would you recommend? I find LED lights generally extremely bright. Also, I’ve read that the flicker has more to do with the electricity going to the lights rather than the bulb. Should I change the very old dimmer switch?

Though we would usually recommend our BR30 products for your recessed lighting, (such as the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential product) these items are unfortunately not flicker-free. As such, these products might not be a good fit for the installation.

I ordered 6 x CENTRIC HOME™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulbs (2700K). It says they are not suitable for enclosed fixtures. Would they be okay for semi-enclosed? I have a couple standing lights with 3 x cones that house the bulbs. I also have the cone desk lamps.

We're happy to confirm that most semi-enclosed fixtures should be safe to use, so long as there is adequate venting for heat dissipation.

For context, unless a fixture has a way of easily dispersing the heat generated by the bulbs, the hardware within the bulbs can overheat and cause the product to encounter errors.

What is the difference between the Centric Daylight 5000K and Northlux 5000k bulbs?

What is the difference between the Centric Daylight 5000K and Northlux 5000k bulbs? What is the R9 rating for the Centric Daylight 5000k bulb? Also, do the 5000k bulbs give off a blue hue to them?

The difference between the CENTRIC DAYLIGHT and NorthLux bulbs is that the NorthLux bulbs are calibrated to the D50 and D65 color standards which may be crucial for certain visual tasks. Both feature 95+ CRI and R9 values of 80+.

The 5000K lamps could certainly be perceived as being blue, especially during evening hours, and compared to incandescent and other warm white LED lamps.

Here is an article going over some aspects of 6500K lamps, many of which would also apply to 5000K lamps:

Full Spectrum LED Bulbs for Small Aquariums

I saw your aquarium T8 tube on your site. I love your lights and hope to somehow use them on small aquariums. I was wondering if I could use your A19 or BR30 or LED strips that could be as close a comparison to the aquarium T8 tube as possible. So full-spectrum small lights, not tubes. I would really appreciate your advice on this.

Our BR30 and LED strip light products also feature very high CRI (95+) and could very well be used for your aquarium!

I've included the product links below:

Recommended LED Bulbs for Retail Furniture Store

I own a furniture store and also sell home decor and gift items. My retail area is about 64 x 32 and has 15 ft ceilings. There are 7 ceiling lights and I sell and use lamps for ambiance lighting. I bought the building 2 years ago and have just now needed to replace a bulb in the ceiling light. They all currently have a fluorescent 55w 3800 lumens E26 bulb in an open fixture. My ceilings are black, walls are white, flooring is a medium gray, no dividing walls in the space.

Based on the details that you provided, we might recommend our 4000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb product. These items have a compatible E26 base, and offer a similar output as a 60W halogen, at 800 lumens per bulb. This product also features a higher CRI than your current products, at 95+.

Further, we generally recommend the 4000K color temperature option for retail installations, which would offer a warmer color point than the 5000K product that you mentioned.

Recommended High CRI LED Lights for Art Gallery Lighting

I am a member of an artist-run art gallery. We have a new gallery space and would like to know what kind of lighting you recommend which would give us full spectrum color. We will want spots and perhaps tube lighting, all dimmable if possible. An architect friend recommended we get high CRI lights, at least in the 90s.

Based on the details provided, we might recommend our dimmable Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs. These BR30 products can provide a great full-spectrum high-CRI solution for track lighting systems.

Regarding our tube light options, you might be interested in our NorthLux™ 95 CRI T8 LED Tube for Art & Studio product. Though these T8 LED tube lights are unfortunately not dimmable, they do offer a CRI of 95+ while being compatible with many fluorescent T8 fixtures.

Will 95 CRI BR30 6500K LED bulbs fit any fixtures?

I need help with proper lighting for the new salon. I know I need 6500k 90+cri. I see your artist bulbs are perfect. However, will those bulbs fit any fixtures, if not what kind do they comply with?

We are happy to confirm that our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio and NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio products are designed to fit within any fixtures that utilize the standard E26 base. For reference, the E26 base is a common standard that you would likely see in the most floor and table lamps.

As such, these products should not require any specialized fixtures for operation.

Suggested Color Temperature for Residential Lighting

Is there a big difference between ordering the bulbs from you all and buying bulbs from Home Depot or Lowes?

Also, Can you tell me what kelvin temp I would need for (recessed lighting in the kitchen, living room ceiling fan, entryway chandelier, and bedrooms)?

While there are many great LED products available on the market, our products have been designed to offer a higher CRI and better color consistency than much of what you will find available at Lowes or Home Depot.

The CRI listed within our product pages represents how similar the light is in quality to that of natural sunlight. While some LED products offer a CRI of 80, products such as our CENTRIC DAYLIGHT™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulb offers flicker-free functionality and a CRI of 95+.

For living rooms and bedrooms, we generally recommend the 2700K option, whereas, for kitchens and dining areas, we would alternatively recommend the 3000K option. For recessed lighting, you might be interested in our 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential products.

For more information regarding the right options for each space, I have provided a helpful blog post from our website below which might prove to be useful for your planning purposes.

Full Spectrum Clip-on Magnifying Light for Painting Studio

I need to buy a flexible clip-on magnifying light with full spectrum light for my painting studio. I was investigating some products that claim to have different levels of lighting. I read a lot on this site as I was not convinced that they provided the full spectrum needed for painting art. I like what I saw on your site but where do I get the fixtures that will accommodate your bulbs?

Based on our review of the best-selling magnifying LED lights for painting on Amazon, it appears that the majority of the results utilize embedded SMD LED panels that surround the product viewing lens. As such, it does not appear that our products could be installed within the majority of these items.

However, we are happy to offer several alternate lighting products which our customers have utilized within their studio spaces, including the NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures, and the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio product. That being said, neither of these products is directly comparable to the magnifying LED light mentioned.

Do your Avian LED Bulbs emit UV-A or UV-B?

I see that one says NO UV, and the other does not say one way or the other. It is my understanding that our Parrot Family birds do need Full Spectrum but that includes some UV-A and UV-B.

We can confirm that these products are not designed to emit UV-A or UV-B, which can be noted on the lighting parameter analysis report link below for the A19 Avian bulb product. As such, it is entirely possible that specific avian families or breeds would benefit from specific adjustments to lighting, including the use of lights with a greater UV output.

To this end, we might recommend reaching out to an avian specialist for specific instructions on creating ideal lighting environments for your parrots.

Specs Reports for 3000K BR30 bulb

Your website is missing the data sheet / photometric report for the following product: Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb I would like to compare the 3000k options against this bulb, but need the datasheet/report to do so. Would you be willing to send this to me, and/or put it up on the website?

We do not have the photometric report on hand but we will work on getting these published and sent to you shortly.

In the meantime, for a nearly identical comparison, we would recommend referencing our A19 lamp photometric reports for which a similar comparison of color temperature variants can be made:

Full Spectrum LED Lighting for Grocery Store Installation

I'm an architect looking for lighting that mimics daylight as closely as possible for a grocery store installation.

We have attached two product links below that we believe might be a great fit for your grocery store installation.

As mentioned, please feel free to take advantage of our 30-day return policy for your order. If the products wind up not working well in the space, simply let us know and we would be happy to promptly issue a prepaid return label.

BR30 vs A19 Bulbs for Artist Studio Space Lighting

I want to use the NorthLux 95 CRI E26 A19 LED bulbs in track lighting for a small space of 5 x 6 feet. How many bulbs would you recommend? Can you recommend a source or fixture that would be appropriate for the space?

Based on the details provided, we estimate that your 5x6 space would benefit from roughly 2,389 lumens to be properly illuminated for artwork creation.

As each of the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio products offers 800 lumens, we estimate that three bulbs could work well for the track lighting in your studio.

While there is not a specific light fixture that we could recommend, it might be helpful to know that our BR30 products are compatible with the standard E26-base track lighting systems that you might find in your local hardware stores.

Are there pros and cons to ordering the NorthLux 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb instead? I see it is not dimmable, and the BR30 bulb is dimmable, but otherwise, I don't understand how they would differ in application. Can I use the E26 fixture with this also?

We're happy to confirm that the A19 bulb is compatible with E26 fixtures and that the performance will be largely the same as the BR30 bulb. The primary benefit offered by the BR30 bulbs is the narrow beam angles, which can be quite useful for track lighting systems with directional lighting.

However, if the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio product winds up not working well in your space, it might be helpful to know that we have a 30-day return policy. Simply reach out to let us know, and we will issue a prepaid return label.

5000K Lighting for Oil Painting Studio

I just found your website and would like to purchase an LED tube light for my oil painting studio, but noticed that your NorthLux™ 95 CRI LED Shop Light Fixture is sold out until 2-1-21. This sounds like the best option for me, but could you recommend an alternative? I'm noticing that you have T8 bulbs that would work with a regular fluorescent fixture. Could you point me to a fixture that would work well with these bulbs? Or is the NorthLux™ 95 CRI LED Shop Light Fixture a much better solution because of the diffuser and the integrated LED tubes? I'm interested in 5000K, but maybe you could suggest why I would want to go to 6500K?

We can confirm that our LED Shop Light Fixture is a great option for your lighting needs. You may take advantage of our 30-day return policy if you would like to try the product in your studio.

We can also confirm that our T8 LED tube light products can be utilized in any existing T8 fixture, though we do recommend installing these products within fixtures that do not utilize ballast or bypass the ballast entirely. More information about these installation types can be found on our T8 product specification sheet, which I have linked below.

Specification sheet link: https://www.waveformlighting.com/datasheets/UM_4020.pdf

We also have a terrific article on our website which describes the differences between 5000K and 6500K in detail, which might prove to be useful in your planning.

Difference Between 5000K and 6500K Bulbs: https://www.waveformlighting.com/art-painting/difference-between-5000k-and-6500k-bulbs

Do you sell 5000K light bulbs for track lighting? See attached image. I probably need to get you some sort of code off the bulb itself. See attached image.

Based off of the photo that was shared, it appears that the lights within your track system are BR30 bulbs.

We're happy to confirm that we sell the 5000K Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb products, which are often installed within similar track lighting systems. This product also features compatibility with dimmers.

Is the BR30 LED Bulb rated for use in recessed fixtures?

Is the “Ultra High 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb” 4011.30/4011.40 rated for use in recessed fixtures (ceiling cans)?

The BR30 lamps can safely be used in the ceiling can fixtures as long as they are not sealed off. They are unfortunately not rated for enclosed fixture use.

BR30 LED Bulbs for Residential Installations

I am very impressed with your products and I'm looking to see if buying from you would be a viable option. We are renovating our whole house and need lights for every room. We have 4" and 5" recessed lights. The kitchen, dining, and master bed and bath have 15 ft ceilings.

Our BR30 lamps sound like a great option. The BR30 lamps have a 3.75" diameter, so they should be a nice fit for both the 4" and 5" ceiling fixtures that you have.

We would also recommend installing enough bulbs to achieve sufficient brightness levels for your space. You may find our lumen estimation calculator helpful in determining the lumen needs:

https://www.waveformlighting.com/lumen-calculator

Finally, in choosing color temperature, the 3000K is the most popular and recommended option for residential installations. Higher color temperatures (4000K and above) can be useful for art and photo studios where daylight calibrated light is useful.

Please see below for the 3000K product link:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/br30-bulbs/products/ultra-high-95-cri-e26-br30-led-bulb-for-home-residential

High CRI and R9 Lighting for Textiles and Leather

I make handbags that incorporate textiles and leather. I need to get accurate color when photographing my pictures. I am taking pictures myself and am not a professional photographer. Is there any LED lighting that you can recommend? I’m taking pictures indoor. I also have an adapter that can fit LEDs into a soft box. I’ve tried natural light but I’m trying to get consistent pictures for my online website.

Based on the details provided, there are a few products that we might recommend depending on your ideal installation method.

The primary product that we might recommend is the 99 CRI ABSOLUTE SERIES™ LED Flexible Strip product. This product feature light which is virtually indistinguishable from natural daylight, which could prove to be useful with your photography.

Alternatively, in the event that you would prefer to use traditional light fixtures, we might recommend our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio products. However, please note that this product is currently backordered.

As a final recommendation, our NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures can be easily mounted in multiple configurations, and contain integrated lighting within the product housing, which reduces the amount of required accessories.

Recommended LED Lights for Breeding Dogs

I have breeding dogs in 5 x 5-foot dog kennels in a shop with 20-foot ceilings, which have 4ft 4 bulb lighting across the whole ceiling. The room is approximately 60 ft x 72 ft with the kennels occupying about 20 x 30 ft long along one wall. What lights should I use? Should I install a light shield over the tops of the kennels to defer the ceiling lights when the shop is being used regularly on our farm? Is this going to have a noticeable effect considering the ceiling lights?

While lighting applications for animal health are beyond the scope of our expertise, we would be more than happy to assist with general recommendations for creating a lighting environment that best mimics natural light.

We would perhaps suggest starting with a target illumination level of 150 footcandles. This would require approximately 3700 lumens per 5 x 5 ft kennel.

Our most popular product is our flicker-free T8 LED tube lights. These lamps can be housed in 4-ft lamp fixtures and feature flicker-free, full-spectrum light output at 95 CRI. Please see below for the product link:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/centric-daylight-full-spectrum-flicker-free-t8-led-tube-light

Each lamp emits 1800 lumens, so for each kennel, you will want to use two or more lamps per kennel.

Alternatively, our BR30 lamps can also be used if you have standard, circular ceiling fixtures:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/full-spectrum-e26-br30-led-bulb

These lamps emit 800 lumens each, so you will want to use approximately 5 lamps per kennel.

High CRI 2700K BR30 LED Bulbs

We need 2700K High CRI in BR30 format for bedroom installation, yet I noticed you don't offer that. Any chance you’ll release a 2700k version?

Unfortunately, we no longer offer the 2700K color temperature option for our BR30 bulbs at this time. We apologize!

Full Spectrum BR30 Bulbs for SAD and Home Lighting

I am looking to replace our whole home can lights with full spectrum bulbs to combat SAD and boost the health of my family. We live in Oregon and have limited sunlight exposure. I am trying to decide between your Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb in 3,000K and your Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb in 4,000K. Are they both suitable for whole-home use? Are they both full spectrum and beneficial for light therapy/heliotherapy?

Since both items come from the same product family, which can be noted by the shared part numbers, the full spectrum features and performance will be identical across the two items. As such, both products would be suitable for home use. The only differentiator between the two can be found in the color temperature options available.

Generally speaking, the intended purposes of different spaces or rooms can help to define the proper color temperature selection. For example, general-purpose areas might benefit from the warmer 3000K color point, whereas kitchens and work spaces might benefit from the slightly cooler 4000K option.

Our website features some excellent blog posts which I have linked to below, which could prove to be useful in your selection:

Blue Light, Melatonin, and Circadian Rhythms: https://www.waveformlighting.com/human-centric/blue-light-melatonin-and-circadian-rhythms

Everything You Need to Know About Full Spectrum Lighting: https://www.waveformlighting.com/human-centric/everything-you-need-to-know-about-full-spectrum-lighting

We are also happy to offer a 30-day return policy if the selected items don’t work well for the space. Simply let us know which items you would like to return, and we will issue a free return label.

Could you clarify, if the effectiveness of light therapy is the same between 3,000K and 4,000K? Or is one more effective than the other? After reading this blog post, I see “light therapy” is listed for 4,000K but not for 3,000 K.

While both color temperature options of this product feature the same high CRI and therefore would share extremely similar health benefits, the 3000K color temperature would likely be more beneficial than the 4000K.

We have two great articles on our website that go into further detail regarding the health benefits of certain color temperatures, which could be valuable in your decision-making process.

What is the difference between the 5000K BR30 Bulbs?

What is the difference between NorthLux (5000K) and Full Spectrum (5000K)?

Thank you for reaching out! Both the NorthLux BR30 5000K and Full Spectrum BR30 5000K lamps are the same product (part number 4011.50) listed on different product pages for marketing purposes.

We apologize for any confusion caused!

Difference Between the BR30 Bulbs

Other than color temperature, what is the difference between the Ultra High, Full Spectrum, and the NorthLux 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb? I'm about to move into a large studio condo and am considering my lighting options. In my previous places, I've used SoLux 4700k 12V MR16 halogens and loved their light, but they are not compatible with our fixtures.

We can confirm that the color temperature options available are the only differences between the three products referenced, as they are of the same product family. This can be noted by the shared part number on each product page.

However, each product offers the same benefits of full spectrum, high CRI lighting, as well as a low flicker rate.

We do apologize for any confusion which may have arisen, as these products are displayed on multiple pages for marketing purposes.

Difference in perceived brightness between A19 and BR30 LED Bulbs

Could you tell me if there is a difference in the perceived brightness, by beamspread, etc between the NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio and the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio?

Due to the 120 degree beam angle of the NorthLux™ BR30 bulbs, these products would indeed appear to emit a brighter and more focused light than the NorthLux™ A19 bulbs, even though both products technically offer the same 800 lumen output.

That being said, we are also happy to offer a 30 day return policy in the event that you would like to purchase both items in order to make a direct product comparison.

Flicker-free and Non-dimmable Recessed Light Bulbs

I see you have the BR30s but do you know where I can get the Zero flicker, non-dimmable recessed light bulbs?

We unfortunately are not aware of any BR40 lamps that feature flicker-free light output. One alternative would be to consider our BR30 lamps, which have a 3.75 inch diameter. The gap between the lamp and the ceiling fixture rim may be on the larger side, but the lamps will fit in the fixture without any issues.

High CRI LED lighting for Photographic Printmaking

I am a professional printmaker for photographers who sell their work in galleries. I also produce prints for museum exhibits and corporate photography installations. I am building a new print-making studio. I would like high CRI lighting for my print viewing/color-correcting area. I need 5000K Hi CRI (95 or higher) for color correcting as well as 2700K and 3000K high CRI to view prints for how they will look under gallery or museum lighting. I would prefer to have one light source to be able to produce all three color temperatures. Each color temperature would be used one at a time. Which of your products would work best for my application?

Our high CRI LED lighting offerings sound like a great fit for both the color viewing (D50 / 5000K) as well as gallery/museum lighting conditions (2700K/3000K).

Unfortunately, we do not offer any products that feature the ability to switch between those color points, so we would instead recommend installing separate lamps for each of the color points needed.

For the D50 / 5000K color point, our line of NorthLux or D50 products will work well for your needs. For example, please see below for our A19, T8 lamp or T5 fixture options:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/a19-bulbs/products/northlux-95-cri-e26-a19-led-bulb-for-artwork-paintinghttps://store.waveformlighting.com/products/northlux-95-cri-t8-led-tube-for-art-studiohttps://store.waveformlighting.com/products/northlux-95-cri-t5-led-linear-light-fixture

Our 2700K and 3000K are a bit more limited in form factors. Below is our A19 and BR30 lamp option:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/a19-bulbs/products/centric-home-full-spectrum-flicker-free-a19-10w-led-bulbhttps://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/br30-bulbs/products/ultra-high-95-cri-e26-br30-led-bulb-for-home-residential

If you can let us know a bit more about the lighting installation in terms of fixtures and location, we'd be glad to assist with some additional recommendations and guidance!

Will your T-8 NorthLux 95 CRI LED tubes operate with a dimmable ballast allowing me to dim the output and still maintain the same color temperature and color rendering index?

Unfortunately our T8 LED lamps are not dimmable, and will not work with a dimmable ballast. Sorry for the bad news!

Do BR30 and A19 bulbs dim properly with older-style dimmers that adjust voltage?

Do BR30 and A19 bulbs dim properly with older-style dimmers that adjust voltage? Do the bulbs make a humming noise when dimmed with the older-style dimmers?

We can confirm that our A19 and BR30 lamps are designed for use with modern phase dimmers. However, they are not designed for use with older dimmers such as rheostat dimmers.

As such, these products may not be compatible with the dimmers that you have installed. We might recommend reaching out to a local lighting expert for further specialized instruction regarding compatibility.

LED Lighting Suggestion for Small Townhome of 1200 sq ft

Could you suggest a type of LED lighting for a small townhome ~ 1200 sq ft? I have 9 led lights in my downstairs and the room takes a pink/peach hue. I have white walls and want everything crisp, but cannot find a good brand or light.

Our high CRI LED lights should be a great fit for your home.

The first step in determining your lighting needs would be to understand the amount of brightness and the number of lights needed. Based on the square footage provided, we ran some quick calculations using our lumen estimation calculator (https://www.waveformlighting.com/lumen-calculator) which suggests approximately 26,000 lumens as your target brightness level.

We would further recommend a 3000K color temperature which will provide your residential space with a comfortable but crisp white, light.

Do you have a recommended dimmer to minimize flicker while dimming?

I installed new recessed lighting and looking for quality LED bulbs with matching dimmers. I'm personally sensitive to color and flicker gives me headaches. I'm looking at the 4011.30.6P. It shows a flicker of 6%. Is this low flicker amplitude maintained while dimming. It appears Lutron and Leviton dimmer are mentioned as compatible. Any particular dimmer recommendation to minimize flicker while dimming?

We ran a series of dimming tests using a Lutron CTCL-150 and confirmed that the flicker performance is indeed best at or near 100% brightness, where we observed ~7% flicker and 0.02 flicker index.

As the brightness setting is decreased, flicker percentage increases to ~11% with 0.03 flicker index. Given that traditional incandescent lamps exhibit flicker rates of 15% and higher, this performance is in line with, or exceeds that of traditional incandescent lamps and should not present any issues for most residential installations and applications.

Attached are the test results as well as a plotted chart of the results.

df_GQfGfit-0YHZJ4b7oPk69oCiVY5OvmgDownload

Do you think the performance will be similar over the full line of Lutron LED+ dimmers or do you think this will vary substantially from one dimmer model to the next?

We've just repeated the test with the Lutron TGCL-153PH series dimmer and saw the same results (7-11% from high to low). While we wouldn't be able to draw any conclusions from just these two tests, we now do possess two sets of data points for Lutron performance which may give us some further confidence regarding dimming performance across brightness settings.

Are these BR30 bulbs available in 2700K?

The product data sheet indicates the bulb with the part number 4011 is available in a 2700k, but I cannot find these on your website. Are these bulbs available in 2700k?

Unfortunately, we no longer offer the BR30 LED bulbs in the 2700K color temperature.

Are there any known health hazards using red phosphors in the bulbs?

I am outfitting my home with waveform-led bulbs. I was wondering if your bulbs give off UV rays to the occupants. Are there any known health hazards with using red phosphors in the bulbs? I am buying PN 4011.40, PN 4002.30 PN 4011.30 I am hoping that all your lights have reduced blue spectrum and are safer than the typical LEDs at hardware stores. I know that your lights carry the CE rating but are not UL listing.

Our bulbs do not emit any UV rays, and all emitted electromagnetic waves are longer than 430 nanometers. There are no known health hazards with red phosphor wavelengths as their peak wavelengths are at 630 nanometers or longer.

These photometric properties apply to all of the PN 4011 and 4002 product lines. For reduced blue light output, we would generally recommend high CRI and low color temperature lamps as they will generally offer the best mix of wavelengths to reduce blue light exposure.

Are NorthLux™ 95 CRI T8 LED Tube for Art & Studio Dimmable?

Are these dimmable? NORTHLUX 95 CRI T8 LED

Unfortunately, the NorthLux™ 95 CRI T8 LED products are not compatible with dimmers.

Just need to know which LED lamps you have that are dimmable and are at least 5000K

We can recommend our Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb product, which is dimmable and available in the 5000K color temperature.

LED Home Office Lighting: Best Color Temperature that Mimic Sunlight

I am trying to mimic "sunlight" in my small home office now that the days are getting shorter. The closest thing to my desired lighting that I have experienced is dental overhead lights. I recently purchased a FilmGrade A19 LED bulb, but it felt a bit cool to me. I realize that natural daylight sits in the 5600K to 6500K color range.

1) Do you have suggestions for which of your A19 or BR30 bulbs may best fit my use case?

2) Am I always going to find "natural daylight" options a bit too cool? Would 4000K or 5000K offer a better experience?

Getting the correct color temperature is indeed a challenge!

You are correct that the 5000K to 6500K range is generally considered a good match for natural daylight. 4000K is also a nice option, and you may find some useful information on our blog post here.

One thing to keep in mind that oftentimes, natural daylight color temperatures can appear a bit blue or stark when you do not have enough brightness overall. To that end, if you have any information on the total square footage being illuminated, we may be able to provide some additional recommendations on the quantity of lamps needed to provide sufficient brightness at that color temperature.

We would perhaps recommend taking advantage of our free returns policy to test and compare the various color temperature options and lamp quantities. Once you've made your mind, just let us know and we'd be glad to pay for return shipping and refund you for any returned items.

Do you have BR30 bulbs in 2700K Color Temperature?

Do you not offer the BR30 bulbs in 2700K color temps? The data sheet seems to indicate that you do.

Unfortunately, we no longer offer the BR30 bulbs in the 2700K color temperature.

I am ready to purchase your 3000K flood lights and regular A19 bulbs to retrofit all the existing fixtures in my home. How tightly controlled are your color temperature and CRI values for each of your bulbs, and can I select a particular binning range given that my order will be over $1000?

At Waveform Lighting, we take great care in ensuring the consistency of the products that we offer. This process includes having a very narrow tolerance for variations in the quality of light being emitted by our lighting products.

All of our products are manufactured using single-bin production. Even so, we would be more than happy to provide you with an order containing items originating from the same production batch to be extra sure of color consistency.

Difference between Northlux and Full Spectrum BR30 Bulbs.

Could you please tell me what differences to expect between a 5000K Northlux BR30 bulb and a 5000K Full Spectrum BR30 bulb?

The NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio lights is the same product as the Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulbs. As such, there are no differences between the two products.

We do apologize for any confusion caused as the product is shown on multiple pages for marketing purposes. This can be noted by the shared part number listed in the item description for both products.

Are BR30 Bulbs Compatible with a Legrand Tru-Universal Dimmer?

I have a new job that's interested in your products. I remember the last time, I returned some products because they weren't dimming correctly. Can you confirm that the BR30s are compatible with a Legrand Tru-Universal dimmer and that they don't buzz audibly when dimmed?

We, unfortunately, do not have any test data on that particular dimmer model this time.

In the meantime, if you're in a rush to decide on the installation, we would recommend purchasing a sample set of bulbs to test and see if they work well and provide the lighting performance you are looking for. If it doesn't work out, we'd be glad to pay for return shipping and provide a full refund.

I thought the A19s used to be dimmable. Did that change?

The A19 filament bulbs are dimmable, but the 10-watt A19 bulbs are not. Please see below for the dimmable A19 filament bulbs:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/a19-bulbs/products/ultra-high-95-cri-2700k-e26-a19-led-filament-bulb-for-home-residential

LED Bulbs for Art Studio with Track Lighting System Compatibility and E26 Base Standard

I'm trying to choose between 2 of your wonderful products to light my art studio. I have 2 rows of track lights with E26 Edison sockets. I'm not sure if I should get the regular bulb (NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio) or the floodlight version (NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio).

We can confirm that both our NorthLux™ 95 CRI E26 A19 LED Bulb for Art & Studio and NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio bulbs are compatible with track lighting systems that utilize the standard E26 base.

Regarding the differences between the two products, the BR30 does offer a narrower beam angle than the A19 bulb. Other customers have let us know that this feature has been beneficial for their track lighting fixtures.

R9 Specs for the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb

A couple of questions:

1. I’m not seeing the R9 claimed in the specs. A red apple does not look right compared to incandescent lighting

2. Will you have 2700K in R30 bulb?

The R9 specification for the 3000K Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential product is 80+.

Regarding the color temperatures available, we currently do not have plans to offer this product in 2700K. That being said, I would be more than happy to pass along your interest in this product to my team.

Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb Specs and R9 value

I would like to know the specs (including R9 value) for your Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb.

For our 3000K and 4000K, our recently measured R9 values were 90 and 97, respectively. Please let us know if we can assist with anything else!

Recommended bulbs for Studio Lighting

I need assistance with LED lights choosing the correct bulbs for my art studio and how should setting up my lights for my application. I want to be able to render pencil/charcoal/and paint with the lights. I will be using 8ft ceilings unfortunately but do not currently intend to do many large paintings so hopefully, I will have enough height. I was personally thinking of your 5000K LED Art Studio Tubes or the LED 5000k bulbs but I was not sure if tubes or bulbs made more sense. And if I get either the tube or the bulb what fixtures to mount them with and what wiring info?

It does indeed sound like our NorthLux LED products with 95 CRI and daylight-calibrated color temperatures will be an excellent option for your space.

You are correct that you're in perhaps one of the more tricky stages of planning your lighting, and we'd be more than happy to offer some recommendations.

The first question would be to determine what kind of fixtures (if any) you would be interested in utilizing in the space. For BR30 lamps, for example, you will require residential/commercial style recessed can lights, which typically will go directly into the ceiling, meaning there will be some construction and electrical work needed.

With the tube lights, you can also consider similar ceiling fixtures such as 2' x 4' fixtures, but there are also options such as strip light fixtures and other ceiling mount fixtures that won't require as much involved construction or electrical work.

One of our new products that might be most convenient and the best fit for you would be our integrated T5 LED linear fixtures. These lights have the same 95 CRI NorthLux LEDs inside, but also include screw or magnet-based mounting systems, which means that you do not need any additional accessories or electrical work. They simply plug into a wall outlet, and can also be daisy-chained to connect multiple fixtures.

I've included the product link below - please let us know your thoughts!

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/northlux-95-cri-t5-led-linear-light-fixture

Do you have to daisy chain the end of the light to end or can you use a jumper wire to set the lights up parallel to each other?

You can daisy chain them end-to-end, or they can be connected using a daisy-chain wire. See below:

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2793/2316/products/4026_512x512@2x.jpg?v=1595978321

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2793/2316/products/4026-3_512x512@2x.jpg?v=1595978321

Have you had the artist install the NorthLux 95 CRI BR30 LED bulbs in adjustable lamp track lighting? Like gallery Style? Would you recommend a track lighting system or a tube light system for an oil painting studio with an 8 ft ceiling?

The BR30 lamps are generally used in ceiling fixtures (e.g. recessed can light) and not track light fixtures. One of the concerns is that the BR30 beam angle is very wide and spread out, making them less suitable for track light fixtures which generally are designed for narrow beam angle spotlights generally seen, as you mention, in gallery settings.

For art studios, the tube lights would definitely be a great option, as they can provide full and evenly distributed light coverage.

To get a sense of how much light you will need, we would recommend using our Lumen Estimation Calculator, which can be found at the link below:

https://www.waveformlighting.com/lumen-calculator

Do you think if you used the BR30 bulbs with the track light fixtures you could get a wider distribution of light from the track light system giving you the wide soft light without hotspots but also being very adjustable in where you direct the lights?

If adjustability is an important feature, the track system may indeed work well for your needs! The LED strip lights are quite permanent and fixed in place, so that would definitely be a big downside.

Will your Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb fit in the 4" cans?

I have 4" cans ready to be installed, and I want to purchase your Full Spectrum E26 BR30 LED Bulb 4011.50. Will the bulbs fit in the 4" cans?

Our BR30 lamps have a diameter of 3.75 inches at their widest point.Since you have 4-inch can lights, you should not have any issues. The one thing to check for, however, may be any baffles or other accessories that may obstruct the lamp if they do not allow for an opening of 3.75 inches or wider.

Which of your lighting systems would you recommend for two months old lovebird?

I just got a new baby Lovebird that is about two months old. During the fall and winter, I want to give him adequate light that is as natural as possible so he can be happy and so his body can produce the nutrients it needs. Which of your lighting systems would you recommend? Do you have some kind of kit that would fit inside or above his cage that is simple to set up?

Currently, we are only able to offer individual bulbs for sale and we do not any have kits or complete solutions. If you have any existing lamps or fixtures, our lamps would be a great option to replace any old or burned out lamps, but if you are starting from scratch, you may want to check with some specialty pet supply sellers.

Below are the two lamps we currently offer:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/avian-full-spectrum-e26-a19-led-bulb-for-birds https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/avian-full-spectrum-e26-br30-led-bulb-for-birds

Can you suggest a 5000K bulb with about 1600 lumens in a BR30 fixture for my studio?

I have a small area that I use for a studio and have a BR30 fixture about 9 feet above my easel. I would like a 5000K bulb with about 1600 lumens with good color. Can you suggest a product?

Unfortunately we do not offer any lamps with 1600 lumens, and the closest option would be our BR30 lamp which puts out 800 lumens at 5000K and 95 CRI. Please see below for the product link:

https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/northlux-95-cri-br30-led-bulb-for-artwork-painting

Does the NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb fit an E27 or E26 base?

I have a question about NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio. Does it fit an E27 or E26 base? The product page doesn't say.

The NorthLux BR30 lamps have an E26 base. Therefore, we would recommend using it with E26 base lamp fixtures only.

Do you have a 2700K version of the BR30 LED Bulb?

Your product page mentions the 2700K version of the BR30 LED Bulb, but I can't select 2700K in the Color Temperature dropdown. Do you know when the 2700K BR30 LED Bulb will be available again for purchase?

Unfortunately, we no longer offer the 2700K color temperature for our BR30 LED bulbs.

That being said, depending on your installation we might suggest our 2700K CENTRIC HOME™ Full Spectrum Flicker-Free A19 10W LED Bulb as an alternative.

Here's the list of 2700K products that we currently offer:

https://www.waveformlighting.com/color-temperature/2700K

I am a painter and cannot simply change the bulbs. Do I need to order bulbs and a different fixture, or just buy a full fixture from you?

I am a painter with a small (about 3.5 m by 1.5 m) space where I paint. It's a sunroom and has amazing natural light, but I have been struggling to paint at night. Due to uninteresting reasons, I cannot simply change the bulbs- and I am thus going to replace the entire fixture. Do you think it would make more sense to order bulbs and a different fixture or just buy a full fixture from you?

We may recommend utilizing our bulbs within another replacement lighting fixture, as the current fixtures we offer are not dimmable.

If your replacement fixture accepts BR30 bulbs, we would be happy to recommend using our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulb for Artwork & Studio. We recommend this product because it has dimming capability, offers a high CRI, and emits light that is similar to daylight.

This product has two color temperature options, 5000K and 6500K. 5000K will have a neutral daylight color point, while the 6500K has a color point similar to full daylight. You may find that one option is better suited for your space than the other.

Are E26 Light Bulbs Interchangeable?

I have a fixture that came with a 14 watt E26 standard Medium base CFL bulb. Can I replace these with dimmable LED bulbs?

Based on the description provided, we believe that the following bulbs may work in your fixture, as both are dimmable and have a power consumption under 14 watts.

1. Ultra High 95 CRI E26 A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential

2. Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential

95 CRI light that can change from 5000K to 6500K - used for painting

I want to buy a light that has 95 CRI and ideally can change from 5000K to 6500K. The function is for painting and I want to know what kind of lamp fixture I need to buy to use a light of yours. I would prefer a floor lamp because my table is crowded with my paper and paint materials.

While we currently do not offer lighting products which can adjust between the 5000K and 6500K color temperatures, we do offer many 95 CRI products which can be used in a wide variety of lighting fixtures, from floor lighting to track lighting.

For example, some customers who use our products for illuminating their canvases or artwork spaces have chosen to utilize floor lighting fixtures which are directional.

These customers have utilized our NorthLux™ 95 CRI BR30 LED Bulbs for Artwork & Studio, which are available in both the 5000K and 6500K color temperatures.

Can these bulbs be used in most floor lamps?

Regarding power requirements, our BR30 lamps also require 120V AC to operate.

Do you have a BR30 or PAR30 bulb that has lower blue light?

I'm looking for a BR30 or PAR30 bulb that has lower blue light. The 2700K seems to fit the bill, but I don't see it on your website anymore. Are you planning to sell more of these in 2700K?

Unfortunately, we do not have any 2700K BR30 bulbs at this time, and do not currently have plans to manufacture them.

In the event that your space would specifically benefit from the 2700K color temperature, the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 A19 5W LED Filament Bulb for Home & Residential may be an option.

However, if you require the narrower focused light output of the BR30 bulbs, we do offer the Ultra High 95 CRI E26 BR30 LED Bulb for Home & Residential in 3000K, which is a bit cooler, but similar to the 2700K color temperature specified

Can I use an E26 BR30 bulb in a recessed ceiling fixture (no covering)?

Can these bulbs be used in a typical recessed ceiling fixture? There is no cover, so the bulbs will not be fully enclosed. I really want to change the lighting and feeling down here in the basement and I'm hoping these full-spectrum lights will help.

We can confirm that the BR30 E26 LED bulbs generally fit into recessed ceiling light fixtures, so long as the fixture is designed to accommodate the E26 base.

Please note that these lights do require airflow for proper heat dissipation. So long as these bulbs are not being covered by an enclosure, they should not experience overheating.
